The theme is to create a remake of a film or book. You may either re-create the entire film, or one scene.

4. You must include this link http://www.davidmpickett.com/ at the end of your video.

5. You must credit the author and/or director of the original film or book that you are remaking.

6. Your video must be longer than 30 seconds and it must not be longer than 5 minutes.

7. Your video must include at least 50% of stop motion animation using LEGO or similar bick-like elements.

Submission

Send a link of your film to our PM.

Deadline

The deadline is September 15 at 8:00 PM ET. Entries may be accepted from now until that time.

Prizes

Our wonderful sponsor David Pickett will donate a dvd of his creations. "NNN Chapter 1: New Beginnings".

The prize will be given to the first place winner.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

I love the theme and the prize. I have something in mind for this, I'll try to enter.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

Alrighty then.
Cool theme, this could turn out cool. I already have something in mind...

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

The prize is worthy. I'll see what I can do (I hope I actually do something, unlike other times).
Just one thing: I think it would be better to extend the maximum time limit. I already know what to do if I'll start an entry.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

Love the theme, but since we are working on a large film project right now, we probably won't be able to enter.  Can't wait to see what people come up with though. mini/smile

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

OMG OMG OMG DIBS ON 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY!
That is-- If I have time. I will proably make an extremely abridged version.
Great idea though!
You can't make a parody, can you?

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

I will enter. And please no "Dark Knight" remakes people.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

can you make a montage clip... like a large battle scene or something?

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

Er, unfortunately, I really can't think of a good idea. xD
And I hate matching to stuff. mini/blankexpression Leaves no room for improvisation.
I CAN'T WORK IN THAT TINY BOX!!! D:

Hehe, sorry for the over-dramatic cyber-scream. xD
Good luck to everybody. mini/smile

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

I bet you that someone is going to make a Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Aw wait! I Just noticed that it can't be longer then 5 minutes! Aw shucks!

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

thnking more along the lines of the Pod Race...

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

Hey, I know this is an extreme stretch,
but could I make a re-make of a book that is not finished nor published? mini/smile

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

I would think not, because none of us would know your source material.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

I know it's a stretch, but, re-reading the rules, it doesn't seen to deviate, as it's still a book.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

Juggernaut Pictures, I know we can't use copyrighted music but would I be able to use part of the audio from this in my entry (in English of course)?

Darin it!  I wanted to do the "My god, it's full of stars" scene.

I guess I'll do 2010, The Year We Make Contact in LEGO.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

Y'know, multiple people could adapt the same source material. It would just mean that much more competition, though.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

That's a good point. mini/smile
Also, even if you guys do the same movie, it's extremely unlikely for you to do the same part.
So, it'd probably be best to not call dibs.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

In that case I'll probably do the "My god it's full of stars" scene but I can't say for sure.

Re: Re-Run Animation Challenge 2011

You can make your own versions of a scene/video, we just want the central themes to remain the same. For example, you could do the fight in Star Wars Episode 3 and have Anakin killing Obi-Wan, or Yoda saving the day, as long as the central theme remains. As for the time limit, we will talk about revising it with the other helpers.
