An effect I have in Adobe Premier called "High Pass" I believe works very nicely for radio. ![]()
For helmets, I suggest that you just record your lines into a bucket, or through a pan. It's best to have realism when possible.
Check out xxxfancypantsxxx's tutorial(on youtube) about Audacity. He tells you how he makes a clone voice(helmety sound). That might work for you.

all right. I'm working on a movie about an astronaut. the xxxFancypantsxxx tutorial was great but it doesn't sound Like an astronaut. how do I make those noises?
