House for my upcoming film, Wi-Fi. It has a few things inside but its mostly exterior shots I'm going for.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I like the plants.
But the roof looks rather bad being so bricky.
And it seems to miss some details on the front. A path to the door would also be nice.

I sort of disagree with you.
I kind of like that classic-LEGO-roof style.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

The plants and the windows around the door look good. That roof would look better if you used roofing bricks. Add some shutters on the windows, put something over the door, and it'll look better.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Sometimes, that may be a wanted style, but it doesn't work with the colors.

If you want a more classic feel, I suggest that you have the roof be a bright fun color. Such as red or blue. Plus some yellow for the house walls and some colorful windows with panes and shutters would look nice. mini/smile

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I would use roofing bricks but I don't have enough. mini/sad

Yes, path to the door would look nice. Thanks! mini/bigsmile

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Well, if you have enough slopes the color of the walls, you could use just some to do something like this:

It has a nice even slope, and I find the studs give it a very classical look.

Trying to use this as my scary house in Red River Flows. Like?

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I like. mini/smile
Don't scratch it up. looks creepy as it be.

Needs some more texture though, I;d suggest some detail around the windows, and the roof shoul come out a bit on the front and the sides.

With perfect lighting, it will look great mini/smile

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I love it!  mini/smile  But are you going to see the top of the building? Because I don't like spending time to make something you won't see on camera, it's just pointless. But great set, this film looks awesome!

Very nice set indeed, Kinz. I love the fact that there's an overall scheme to it, but not an overall pattern.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I like it Kinz, but the roof looks kinda like a barn roof, the shape and all.  To make it a little better, I would add some more layers, like eaves and overhangs etc.
And good golly, I love this thread!

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I like it too. But it would look good with a little scratching with an Expo marker. I find those to be useful and they rub right off with your finger. mini/smile

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

That might get annoying while animating...
I think it will look fine, and horrific, if you just get the lighting right. I don't think the set itself needs anything.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I think the house looks good.
With creepy lighting, it will be perfect.
