Some remakes DO really annoy me. ![]()
Perfect example being The Green Hornet.
I LOVE THE GREEN HORNET!!! ![]()
But I hated that movie, I like to refer to it as The Green Bumble Bee. ![]()
It was a pathetic job of bringing back the Hornet. Seth Rogan was a terrible actor for the role. And it was very, very dirty, with loads of bad words and dirty jokes. ![]()
Though, I did like that the black beauty was very classic looking, the fight scene at the end WAS SO EPIC, and I quite enjoyed the actor they had play Kato, I almost enjoy him as much as Bruce Lee.
But, there are good remakes. ![]()
I loved Star Trek, and I'm a really big Trekkie (I prefer it to Trekker)
They did a really wonderful job bringing it back and having some interesting stuff. and the effects were so great. ![]()
though, I still know some Trek fan who hated horribly. ![]()
So, to sum it up, it really all depends.
You'll like some, sometimes you won't. You just have to go and hope for the best.
Global thermonuclear war is coming back to a theater near you. And, fittingly, a gamer is helping make it happen.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I just watched WarGames yesterday
I hate the idea of a War Games remake. The time period played such a huge part in my enjoyment of that movie.
Didn't they already remake War Games?
That was a direct-to-DVD sequel, if i recall correctly.
I heard in the Green Hornet somebody got his eyes knocked out by a plank of wood. ![]()

If you say it like that, makes me think of a guy getting hit with a wooden board then his eyes fall out like the guy from Pirate of the Caribbean. xD No.
(this is a little nasty)
It was more like two pieces of wood getting stuck in his eyes

The 2009 STAR TREK movie can't really be called a "Remake" since it's a prequel to the original series. It's more like a reboot to the whole Trek franchise and it aims to attract younger audiences since the 'true' Trekkies (the TOS fans) are getting really old ![]()
Well, not really a prequel. Sort of a sequel.
Well, not really a prequel. Sort of a sequel.
It shows the way the whole crew of the Enterprise assembled. The universe itself has been changed though with the whole Nero going back to past and changing the way it was thing...
It's not a change made to the original universe, it simply shows the events of an alternate universe to which the "original" (from our perspective) Spock travels to. It's unique in that it's a bit of a reboot and a bit of a sequel.

Exactly.
WarGames is an absolute cult classic. It has quite a following.
I had high hopes for the direct to dvd sequel, but it was a major letdown.
Plus I heard they hardly made any money selling the dvds.
Wasn't the failure of the dvd sequel evidence enough for Hollywood?
Some re-makes/reboots just DON'T work or shouldn't be done.
I actually want a re-make of 'Dungeons & Dragons', and the Star Wars Prequels. I would say 'Dune' - but that has a cult following, and re-makes of cult movies NEVER go well. I dont want re-makes of Ed Wood's movies, but I wouldn't mind someone creating a movie in the style of him (similar to 'Planet Terror'/'Death Proof').
I remember they were planning a re-make to 'Evil Dead' - but (THANK JESUS) it was canned.
And I'm not looking forward to the Conan re-make. I'm sorry, but it will not work as a 300 rip-off minus Arnie. The same goes with the planned 'Red Sonja' re-make (although the original was pretty awful - but its a guilty pleasure of mine)
They are remaking "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark"...
I liked the original TV movie of it from the 70s.
I actually want a re-make of... the Star Wars Prequels.
Unless significant changes were made to the story and structure, I don't see how the end result would be improved in any way, other than perhaps acting in certain places
The entire thing should be changed if they were to remake it
Shame. SHAAAME. SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME!!
Mr. Hollywood. I am disapoint.
Excuse me while I go cry in a corner.
