Maybe they did look fake, but the video was enjoyable and (if I dare say so) pretty professionally produced. The effects, which actually didn't even look that fake, just gave it a cartoony look, which I found rather nice. But it depends whether this is the look you were aiming for, brickbuster.

I think it would look better if you added some in shot lighting effects, like a LED flashlight shining on the scene.
