Re: The Animation Challenge
I think the theme should be yoga...

May I make a suggestion? Character Animation. I think this is one thing brickfilms are sorely lacking in; most characters are animated like robots, no matter how eccentric or upbeat they are. I'm not saying we should do something that involves lots of emotion, either; it could be something simple, like someone making the tough decision of buying one of two similar items at a grocery store. I think the main thing should be focusing on what the character is thinking, and portraying that in how they move, and what movements they make.

A hard thing to do would be a front hand spring. But I'm not sure if that is a good option.
A Vote system anyone? So the winner of the previous challenge picks three themes of his/her choice, and out of the selection of the three you vote for a theme. This way wouldn't it stop themes like this from happening?
Good idea!
Isn't it over? It started last week on the 16th, right?
Littlebrick, I like your idea! Just one little thing to make it even better...no voices! That way people would have to show what the character is thinking entirely through motions!
If that isn't going to be the next theme, we have to do it sometime. Later would be better for me, because I want to enter that one, and I'm not entering any animation challenges until I perfect my animation.
I'm not entering any animation challenges until I perfect my animation.
The point of the Animation Challenge, Is to tackle different animation techniques we wouldn't normaly use. It doesn't matter if your animation is choppy or smooth, the point is to get better at animation.

Unfortunately people lost the point of this thread.
It does not mean animation as in "Animated Short" it means animation as in "Animation".
People are winnng for having the funniest/coolest/most original film, when it's supposed to be who best executed that particular action such as "Punching".
Punching would be won by someone who animated the punch really well instead of the one who animated a really cool fight scene with mediocre punches.
Looks like me and Brickyman understand the concept of the animation challenge.
My entry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Q55jC7ePt0 Sorry the aspect is goofy
I'm working to fix it.

Although I disagree with this theme, that was great.
Well done.

What I meant was to move up to 15 fps and start easing in and out. If I do that, then I'll at least have good universal quality, then pratice specific movements with these challanges.
I entered just so you guys know... I'm the only viewer so far. SO WATCH MY ENTRY!!! I've got my eyes on the views...
