While babysitting recently, I managed to watch Robots, Cats & Dogs 2 and most of Zoom.
Zoom was terrible. Just... bad. I already knew it was going to be a bad movie, yet I was still disappointed. Frankly, I'm glad I wasn't able to finish it.
Cats & Dogs 2 was pretty bad too. I did like the first one (guilty pleasure), but this one kind of ruined everything for me. The plot (in the first) actually felt like it had some decent structuring to it, involved the humans in the conflict in a way that worked, and most importantly, kept my disbelief at bay. In this one, I found myself asking how cats and dogs were able to build such elaborate bases and machinery without opposable thumbs, or how (most) people didn't notice anything strange going on with their pets, or WHY the animals are undercover as pets in the first place — granted, I haven't seen the first one in a while, so if I watch it again I'll probably find myself still asking these questions (but when the animals did use human technology, they were usually rather clumsy with it, so there was that). Humans weren't directly involved in any way — I think "enslaving mankind" was the end goal, but frankly, the whole "Call of the Wild" thing really overshadowed that, making it feel a whole lot more like a purely cats/cats/dogs/birds conflict. I also didn't really care for the one human/dog connection in the movie (though I usually don't, but there just didn't really feel like anything to care about here). Finally, I'm annoyed that the replacement voice actors sounded, for the most part, NOTHING like the original actors.
Robots was actually rather entertaining, though it did feel like a Robin Williams vehicle at times. That's pretty much all I've got to say about it; it was fairly average animated family-film fare. It looked nice, though.
