Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Because it's a sequel to this.

Interestingly enough, the last movie I saw was also Tron Legacy.

I wouldn't call it great, but I certainly enjoyed it far more than I thought I would, so I suppose you could say it exceeded my expectations. Though, I have to say, the CGI Jeff Bridges looked really bad.

The Toughest Man in the World
An enjoyably clichéd, goofy, predictable and over the top 1980s telemovie starring Mr T. There were a fair few "so bad it's good" moments that made me laugh out loud, too.

Hoodwinked too (yes its spelled that way) it was very funny and constantly ripping on sequels and well...people who blog about movies. Even though it was funny it didn't have the best story so the film gets a 4/10. mini/tongue

The Lovely Bones
It was alright, just really weird. There were many times where things seemed really long drawn out, and the film dragged on a bit.

The Five Deadly Venoms
Awesome.

The Social Network
Great film, though I preferred some of Fincher's other stuff (Fight Club, Seven, Zodiac).

Hobo With A Shotgun
Finally got to see it. Amazing.

La tourneuse de pages
Kind of predictable, but overall it was an interesting tale of revenge.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I've seen a ton of stuff lately on Netflix. Two movies that stood out were Barton Fink and Being John Malkovich. Just two movies with really great scripts and phenomenal execution.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

While babysitting recently, I managed to watch Robots, Cats & Dogs 2 and most of Zoom.

Zoom was terrible. Just... bad. I already knew it was going to be a bad movie, yet I was still disappointed. Frankly, I'm glad I wasn't able to finish it.

Cats & Dogs 2 was pretty bad too. I did like the first one (guilty pleasure), but this one kind of ruined everything for me. The plot (in the first) actually felt like it had some decent structuring to it, involved the humans in the conflict in a way that worked, and most importantly, kept my disbelief at bay. In this one, I found myself asking how cats and dogs were able to build such elaborate bases and machinery without opposable thumbs, or how (most) people didn't notice anything strange going on with their pets, or WHY the animals are undercover as pets in the first place — granted, I haven't seen the first one in a while, so if I watch it again I'll probably find myself still asking these questions (but when the animals did use human technology, they were usually rather clumsy with it, so there was that). Humans weren't directly involved in any way — I think "enslaving mankind" was the end goal, but frankly, the whole "Call of the Wild" thing really overshadowed that, making it feel a whole lot more like a purely cats/cats/dogs/birds conflict. I also didn't really care for the one human/dog connection in the movie (though I usually don't, but there just didn't really feel like anything to care about here). Finally, I'm annoyed that the replacement voice actors sounded, for the most part, NOTHING like the original actors.

Robots was actually rather entertaining, though it did feel like a Robin Williams vehicle at times. That's pretty much all I've got to say about it; it was fairly average animated family-film fare. It looked nice, though.

The Frighteners

I loved it. It's been a while that I last saw a film this good. I find a lot of Peter Jackson's films pretty long winded (like King Kong) but this was simply brilliant. It had just the right balance of scariness and comedy. I personally think I preferred it to Ghost a little. Michael J Fox was good too.
Easily one of my favourite films.

The Frighteners was a pretty good movie! Love the insanity of Dammers. Such a shame about Michael J. Fox. :-(

HAHAHA. Put "G" instead of "J", take out the "H" and you spell it right.
