I like it how it looks like the TARDIS from Doctor Who. 
It's pretty cool, but it seems a bit jumpy and un-smooth at times. Needs a little bit of perfecting.

It breaks down after it appears.

No. I shot the scene with the time machine, and then again without it, and then key-framed the opacity of the first layer in final cut.
It looks good! The effect itself is only ok, but the set looks amazing!
