We went to see it for my brother's birthday. Blech. Classic cookie-cutter story, it's making me sick. People need to come up with something new.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The problem with the jokes being adult is that the film itself doesn't appeal to most people over the age of 10, I found it cliche, and both the visuals and pacing were off (I already said how one guy looked like he was made from plastic). And why so many Angry Birds?

I  agree the choking scene Nobody under 13 will not get

The Cove
Maybe not a film more a documentary.  This documentary is amazing, everyone that is 13 years or older should see this.  It's really sad towards the end and the courage that these people had was amazing.  If you can count this as a film then it would be my second to most favorite.  If anyone on this forum hasn't seen it then you better go onto Netflix and add it to your list before I slap you!

Documentary is a film genre.

That's not what I'm saying, in fact some under 13 might not get it, as most people seeing it will be 7-10 years old. As the joke is aimed at adults they might get it but not neccesarily laugh at it because they won't find it funny. It's pointless putting an adult refference in a flim that only young children will enjoy.

It wasn't anything brilliant, and I wasn't expecting that, but there was a pretty massive Rule of Cool overload here. The comments about it being a live-action anime are pretty accurate, too, the most noticeable thing being how pans seemed to have been done on multiple layers instead of actually moving the camera (usually done when two characters are talking). ]

But holy fudge, that was a chaotic movie. And omigosh, it's Jack!]

Danny Boyle's Frankenstein
OK, yes, it's a play, but I saw a video of it at a cinema, so it counts.
Anyway, it was !@#$ amazing. Johnny Lee Miller did an amazing job as The Creature, and it was undoubtedly the best take on the story I have ever seen. Bennedict Cummberbatch did a great job too as Victor Frankenstein. Him and Miller switch roles each night, and I'd love to see him play The Creature too.
If there's a cinema playing it near you, definitely check it out.

I WANT to see that live - but 'The National Theatre' (which isn't really national, if you think about it) is always quite expensive, plus its difficult to travel out of Central London in the middle of the night (unless you live on the outskirts). I'm just waiting for it to come to my local cinema too....

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

It's really good.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
The start was pretty scary, in a forboding kind of way. The rest was alright, kinda messed up, but I've seen/read worse, so meh. And ended rather abruptly. Some scenes were pretty well done, though. Overall it was slightly better than OK for me.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Iron Man 2
Awesome sequel, I actually thought it was better then the first one. Great cast too, I liked old Rhodey better, though.

Seriously? The first was much better - though this is my opinion, you understand. mini/tongue

If you're a Marvel fan, then no doubt you're anticipating Thor coming out in, I think, 2 weeks or so?

I don't make Brickfilms. I trade virtual hats.

Probably because it was fresh, I've seen the first one about three times, so that might be it. Yeah, I like Marvel. Not especially looking forward to Thor, though, I'm curious about it.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Captain America looks really awesome, Thor kinda weak.

They both look pretty weak to me.

127 Hours

One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. The filming style was very unique, and the soundtrack was great.

Hanna

I very much enjoyed this fresh take on the revenge thriller.

I'm actually looking forward to both, though Captain America more so than Thor.

The Passion of the Christ
Arguably one of my favorite movies of all time. You don't even have to be so called 'religious' to see this movie and not enjoy it. It makes my stomach sick to think that people have fun beating another person to the point where they can barely stand up on their own.

Alice in Wonderland (2010)
Contradictory to what I said last year about this movie, good, but not great. I think that the effects were pretty good at some parts, but then terrible at others. I also feel like the beginning was rushed, just so that they could show Underland as fast as they could. Also, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum's acting was atrocious.
6/10

Inception
I had to beg my parents to let me see this movie, and then they finally caved in. This movie is perhaps the best movie of 2010 (Arguable with Toy Story 3), and certainly one of the best movies in recent memory. This movie was not just about 'anti gravity' or 'great music' (Although it was), it's about the story of the movie. What person decides he wants to make a movie about inception? Obviously Nolan did, and created a masterpiece out of it. Although for me, the best part of the movie was

Eh. It's arguable with many other films too.
Hot Fuzz
Funnier then I expected, and the style of directing was person for this movie. Curious to see "Paul" now.

I used to think it was the other way around, but I've changed my mind now. The trailer for Thor is better than Captain America, though.

I agree. Hot Fuzz wasn't something I particularly wanted to see, but I stumbled upon it while channel hopping. I have a sudden great liking for Simon Pegg.

Not so much, though he is pretty funny.
