HOP
I wasn't really expecting much. Technically it was good, but the thing I found with it was it was too childish. It wasn't very universal, films like Toy Story, although they are aimed at children, adults and older kids/teenagers (like myself) love them too, the same with Up and despicable me. It seemed that it was more aimed for kids under 10, so I personally didn't think much of it. It was okay, not anything near as good as 'Despicable me', but not as bad as 'Monsters vs Aliens', which I didn't think much of at all.

Men in Black

I love this movie. Will Smith is great in comedies and never fails to make me laugh. Tommy Lee Jones is also fantastic, I need to see more films with him.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

You either love this movie or you hate it.

I loved it, it was pure geeky awesomeness.

Nacho Libre If you didn't think it was funny, watch it again. It takes a while to get a few of the jokes. But when you do, it is hilarious!

You're awesome bro

Watched the movie at least 4 times, and still don't understand why it wasn't nominated for editing.

How does it take a while to get a fart joke?

If it's a silent fart joke, it can take a couple seconds at least before you get the brunt of it.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

I had to watch this along with 'The Shawshank Redemption' as preparation for my Film Studies exam - where for one of the questions I have to compare these two movies. I know: BEST. EXAM. EVER!!

I prefer this one. Its wittier, its funnier, it has some of the best acting I have ever seen, and its more psychological - in how most of the patients have the ability to escape at any time, but dont because of their institutionalisation. 'Shawshank' is a brilliant movie, but I thought it went overboard with the amount of philosophical speeches Red made. Its like they were trying to make every line of narration quotable - who talks like that? 'Shawshank' however did have a much more satisfying ending; I should hate it because of its cheesiness, but I think its the perfect way to end it. With 'Cuckoo's Nest' I thought:

Spoiler (click to read)

It would have been better if Chief took McMurphy's body with him, so that the patients think that he escaped with Chief. But I understand that they may have wanted to keep to the book. I also think it would have been better if Nurse Ratched lost her voice - like in the book, since it seems as though ultimately Ratched has won, which doesn't seem like a fitting ending. I dont mind endings where the bad guys win (such as 'Brazil'), but only if its fitting that they should win

Actually, this movie does have some links to 'Brazil' in terms of themes (if you haven't seen 'Brazil' yet - WATCH IT! Its one of the most underrated movies of all time IMO). Hmmm, I guess I'd better study that movie too....I'm so glad I took Film Studies.....

Nicholson's best performance IMO.

Not long for those jokes, but some of the dialogue is hilarious! Like, who on their deathbed gives their 8 year old son, their "Lucky Machete"?

You know, you do know how to write about films in a way that's a lot more interesting than what most people here do. Stop the fanboyish gripes and you'll be on a really good path.

Diary of Anne Frank (Masterpiece Classic version 2009)
They need to work on the color correction a bit, way too dark to watch in a dark room. The whole thing got really boring after about 20 minutes, which may have been intended.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

How can a movie be intended to be boring?
