Okay, here's my entry. If you think it's too fast, it's because I had to make it in 24fps - 15fps totally sucked for this. And I know it's bad that the guy doesn't have a shovel but I made it work 
Hope you'll enjoy it!

It wasn't bad actually. But the minifig didn't actually dig a hole, more just get rid of a mound of earth. I liked the cartoony style, thats quite hard to achieve at that frame rate.
If your thinking about moving up to 24fps, perhaps try 20fps first. I'm using it as practise before I move up to 24fps, it gets the balance just right between the easiness of 15fps and the smoothness of 24fps for me. 
I liked it but... the contest was digging a hole not digging a hill... 
So far no entries have shown a hole being dug in the ground.
Shame.

I know the feeling: "I KNOW that in this box, between the gazillion other bricks, there should be AT LEAST two shovels..."

I had the same problem after I built my set. I got frustrated, gave up and 'destroyed' it. Later I found one.

Well a "hole" is a big word, but it is digging and it is actually "moving ground":

This is for everyone struggling to find a shovel.
You do not need to have a shovel in your entry.
You can have the minifig running an excavator or just using their hands to dig.
However, it should be something that can scoop or look like it could (a wrench or even a bucket would be fine).
