Sorry for the light flicker
WOW SO AWESOME
Yeah, it was really sweet!!
EDIT: I added some exclamation marks.
Flash Code wrote:No there is difference between themes. I wouldn't say it is all about smoothness.
For example the free running challenge was a great test of masking abilities, the making a dent in a wall one was a test of how well you could utilise bricks. Obviously, good animation - or smoothness - helps. but really it is a test on how well you portray the theme.
Exacly! I think that the Animation Challenge is about how much you can animate the theme that is going on. Like Robots At Work wasn't much good example because there's not much hard work on animating robots working unless you want it to be very cool!
I dont know if I'm sure, that really knows Fancypants what Animation Challenge is about but I think it's just about animating.
So every theme is every time hard - that's why it's called Animation CHALLENGE.You all probably do know that but I'm just saying that Hamming It Up or Robots At Work weren't the best themes - but the entries were incredible
great sum up.
All in all I think fancypants was trying to do this. Say a theme like jumping out of a window, it's quite a hard thing to animate. In my mind animation challenge is supposed to take things that are hard to animate (like jumping out of a window) and see who can do it well so that he'she can say to the community, "this is how I did it" so that we can learn how to make better animations. since I have been taking part in these challenges I've gotten a lot better at animating.
These challenges are designed to help animators get better at animating by watching people who know how to portray a difficult theme do it. You win these challenges by having good technique, clever execution of the task and smooth animation. Different people do different themes to their own style.Ffor my starting a fire entry I used actual red bricks as opposed to fire shaped lego because that's just how I did it. Clearly it wasn't the best way to start a fire but I've always thought that I made it work and it is definitely something novice animators can do to convey fire. <<<<<<That is the real point of animation challenge in my mind, to teach.
Making my entry

So basically any time tomorrow?
This is a good time for me to have a long weekend...
Nice job!
i like how you used a darker color to show that he dug deeper. I wanted to do that but my rig wouldn't allow it. ![]()
Here's what I did (there's no audio): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbeKjMhDc6E
I tried YouTube this time but it doesn't seem to play very smoothly so if anyone's interested in a better version you can go here:

Enjoy!

That's my favourite entry. Good job.
Looks like you've won. It was good to see an entry without a shovel.
