Topic: A common question...

My latest film had a whole bunch of light flicker in it, but I don't see how it could have happened. All of my camera settings were off or on manual (I use the QC9000). Does anyone here know how to prevent this? I'll post a screen of my settings soon to show you.

Re: A common question...

Get out of the way before the image is taken. Wear a dark shirt. Use remote capture.

Upgrade to a 9000 if you don't have that. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p84/UberSocks/15-2.gif

Whoops typo there. Fixed.
Anyway, I did wear dark clothes at the time, but I'm not sure about moving totally out of the way of the shot. I'll do that next time. mini/smile

Here is some screens I took of my set up:

Re: A common question...

Turn Anti-Flicker off. Odd as it may seem, I don't think that's such a great feature for animation.

Re: A common question...

Yeah, Littlebrick seems to have the answer, I also was getting light flicker a while too until I turned that off. If you still are unable to prevent this problem, you can easily remove them with VirtualDub + Temporal Smoother or if it leaves some side effects, use this plugin.

Re: A common question...

Follow the link below in my sig and watch my tutorial4brickfilms tutorial on preparing your studio. This will help you kill any ambient light that may be effecting your filming.

Re: A common question...

Thanks for the help guys. I made a short test to try filming with anti-flicker. There were still some little light flickers here and there so I did what VN said and put it in VirtualDub with the plugin. Is there a tutorial or something on how to use it? Because I'm sort of stumped.

Import video to VirtualDub - Video - Filters - Add - Load - Then choose the plugin wherever you saved it.

Sorry, I meant how to use the plug-in. It seems every time I press OK after setting the thersold and stuff nothing happens.
