Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Use real water? Trust me, it's possible, just tape your set down in a cookie tray (there are some deep ones out there, you could possible use a container lid too), fill it to the desired depth, and set your camera on a tripod.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I think it looks pretty realistic. Another option, even though it's more of a living heck, is to use water, but wait to let the water sit, and then take the frame. Just a thought. mini/smile

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Or use clay. It's much more controllable and if you do it right, it'll look great.
(By "doing it right" I mean making the clay move like water)

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I've used clay.  Don't do it.  That ruins the film so just use what your using and as for real water.  You could find it hard to animate.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I knew I should have actually tried to use clay as water before posting that! *facepalm*

I've got to think before I post even more than I do already.

(it was a render preview, so the spill suppression isn't quite right in the snapshot)

You're my hero.

EDIT: Here is a frame from our upcoming brickfilm fights film. The masking isn't perfect, but I think that it'll do.
