Yeah... I think it's not this film's fault people think it's bad. It's just that the original movie was really good and so I don't think there was a point in remaking it, I mean it's not like 50 years have passed after the original movie was made.

It's both the film being so horribly bad and Wes Craven's NOES being a horror masterpiece. The remake is one of the most terrible movies I have ever seen.

Ditto, the only good part was the actor playing Freddy, although his make-up was terrible.
and the ending is just lazy, dumb and horribly predictable.

Fully agree. Freddy looked like Michael Jackson with his face bashed in (no offense to Jackson). And the characters are so boring. Usually bad remakes have at least female nudity to try and compensate a little, but what does Nightmare on Elm Street have? Emos in speedos.

Despicable Me

My second time seeing this...

The first 10-15 minutes of the movie are great.

The rest is ok, nothing special.

Total Recall

Pretty epic man, the special effects were awesome, and Arnold Schwarzenegger owns man!

Total Recall is one of my favourite Schwarzenegger movies (although every movie starring him is worth a watch because...he's Arnold). It has a great plot, brilliant action, and is a really good Sci-Fi/Action movie that rivals 'Terminator' IMO. It also has one of my favourite Schwarzenegger moments...and he doesn't even say anything.

"Was that your wife?"
ARNIE: "Yeah"
"What a b***h"
*Arnie gives this awesome expression that it a cross between contemplation and agreement*

Caligula was actually an epic blockbuster.

I remember someone called it "Ben Hur with orgies"....(Obviously I would rather watch Ben Hur)

The story isn't that bad either, considering it's 100% original.

It's kind of a combination of 2001 and Solaris though.

What I mean though is, it isn't a remake, re-imagining, sequel, prequel etc.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Alice in Wonderland (1951)
I've seen a fair amount of animated Disney musicals, but had not until now seen this one. It was a treat to watch: well-animated and whimsical.
The Italian Job (1969)
Call me crazy, but I liked the remake better. The original was too unfocused, which is understandable given its large cast of characters, but still unappealing.
Moon
Wow. Just, wow. This film is a stellar performance from all involved in terms of acting, direction, and production. It's good to see quality "hard science fiction" can still be produced - and on a $5 million budget, no less.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Moon is an awesome movie. I also LOVE the soundtrack to death.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that. The music was quite good.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

YES. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, but now I can't stop listening to it.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Batman Begins
I loved it. Watching The Dark Knight as fast as I can now.

I also really want to see Moon now that you guys are going gaga over it. mini/tongue

Then hurry! cause the dark night ( in my opinion) is the best one out of all batman movies!

Alice in Wonderland (2010)

Haha, that was pretty bad. Some of the visuals were okay, I guess (disregarding the effects shots clearly designed for the 3D attraction), but otherwise, the film is sort of a mess. I was surprised at how straightforward the whole thing was, given that it's a Burton film (even more weird given the source material), and I remember being totally sick of the film before I even reached the halfway mark.

Unstoppable

A solid little thriller, well-made and certainly very intense, especially in the last hour or so. The use of practical special effects is a nice breath of fresh air for a film like this that could easily have substituted CGI instead.

Barfly

Very strange, unique film with good performances from Mickey Rourke and Faye Dunaway. You'd think a film about alcoholics would be more depressing, but the film treats the material in a way that's far more thoughtful than pitying.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Finally got a chance to see this, and I can see why it's so highly regarded. A fantastic western with gorgeous cinematography. The relationship between Butch and Sundance was excellent, Paul Newman and Robert Redford were wonderful together.

Zombieland

This film is a lot of fun. Good performances all around, and it definitely earned several laughs from me.

Winter's Bone

Definitely improves on the second viewing. For being such a deliberately-paced film, it's gripping and unnerving in a way you wouldn't expect. John Hawkes' performance in particular really stood out to me this time; there's such a subdued intensity to his character that's really outstanding.

There is no way a train could become a runaway under the circumstances that I read about (I haven't seen the movie). A locomotive would NEVER default to full throttle, but instead would go to full emergency application.

Oh no. The original was so incredible, and it stuck to both the villain's and Batman's proper storyline.

I don't make Brickfilms. I trade virtual hats.

And it has Booker T and the mgs. Which is awesome.

The Fighter
Won free tickets for this. Great film, great acting etc but I felt that the ending was kind of predictable, while the middle of the movie wasn't. I don't think Melissa Leo really deserved the oscar, though.

Tangled

The trailers really don't do it justice. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's the best film ever, but from where I'm standing, it's Disney's best CGI film; better than Bolt, and definitely better than Chicken Little.
