Re: FOS 2010 - Brick or Treat

Thank you, Littlebrick, for your candid opinion.  In hindsight, we realized that this film could have been condensed to a length of less than ten minutes, and the film’s pacing was too slow.  However, the cliché element was intentional and meant to add to the humor of the film.  In all honesty, we have not seen many brickfilms that use Halloween characters in such a way.  Usually they are killing people, spoofing pop culture, etc.

As to the plot holes that you mentioned, they were explained in the third act.  The policemen snuck up on the witch from behind and grabbed her broom, rendering her powerless.  The vampire was helpless against an officer who had had garlic fettuccini for dinner.  The ghost’s purpose was purely comical because we wanted to show all the stereotypical Halloween characters as failures.  Your skeleton idea of having Bones rip himself apart and retrieving the witch’s broom was brilliant, and we wish we’d thought of it.

All in all, in spite of its flaws, we are proud of our film and stand behind it.  We hope to improve over time, but we spent a lot of effort on the plot and hope that it shows even if it was a bit redundant.

Again, thank you for taking the time to critique our film.
