Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Another western eh, RedBrick1? 2011 shall be a western-packed year of brickfilms, it seems. That shot is pretty simple, but from what I can see I like the look of the set.

Here's a frame from animation rehearsals for Wild Days in the Plastic West; our hero Evan Stilby is overlooking a campfire.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

@Timothy R Thanks, the shot is simple, kind of hard to get amazing looking shots in a conversation scene, the saloon scene is the only one I have worked on so far. Thanks! The set started off as a Star Trek style bridge, then I used it for my Mad Scientist film, and then I added black walls instead of grey for this film. (I reuse stuff alot, but if it works it works.)

On to your frame, I like it! The hint of purple in the lower right of the screen adds alot, and the framing of the shot looks good. I take it the light will be flickering like a campfire right?

Chopders, that lamp looks like it'll be a bit too bright, I'm not sure whether to buy it or not.
Timothy, fantastic camera angle there, can't wait to see the finished product.

Read the description on Flickr of this picture for more info.  A frame from my upcoming film: Click!

This was done with a very elaborate setup and I can post setup pictures here as well if you guys want to see how I lighted this.

Thanks, it took me quite a while to get the set the way I wanted.

A little clue for what is going to happen in the movie: the black remote on the table is significant in the story. mini/wink

Isn't that kind of a rip off of that movie Click?

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

There are plenty of plots available in which a remote is significant besides the one seen in Click. That's kind of a silly assumption to make.

It'll be a ripoff if he makes the remote able to control time; otherwise, it's just a coincidence.

Guys, he is making a version of Click.

That's such a generic title, though. People are just making an assumption.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

A correct assumption.

The remote doesn't change time, it does other stuff unrelated to time.  Anyways I would prefer more comments on the frame and not the title of my movie. mini/smile

Ah yes the frame. The set is really good and the picture quality is really nice. I'm looking forward to the finished product. Just one question, why haven't you shot in widescreen? Or will you crop it later.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I've never even thought of shooting in wide screen, does everyone do that? mini/confused

In other news, I just animated two more shots of this film and they turned out real good. mini/bigsmile

Meh you really need to work on your lighting and framing, both are quite bland and a rather boring shot.
