Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

Double Post:

Two tests have been released! Check them out here.

Also, can someone please tell me how to create a "soft" sort of yellow spotlight? I want to illuminate the stage only while leaving the rest of the restaurant in a sort of dim, dark yellow light. Anyway I can do that? I've tried flashlights, they create too big of a radius of light, and pointing the center at the mime causes him to be too bright, and lowering the exposure causes everything else to be too black (which is how I came across the picture in my sig).

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

If you can find a funnel, put yellow construction paper over the small hole in the front and put the big hole over the part of the lamp that emits light. you should get a soft spotlight.

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

mini/eek  Thanks a lot! I'll try that tomorrow or something, but that should work. Maybe I'll include your name and the names of other people who helped me in making this video in the credits...
I'll also spread out the tables a bit, as it was said in first page somewhere. Thanks to all.

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

I've finally managed a "spotlight," however, I still need to darken the outside... I'll be trying a black piece of paper next. Here are some pictures:

I tried putting exposure down to get rid of the outer light... didn't work:

turn off all the lights in the room except for the spotlight, and change the cloth to something non-reflective

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

Okay, super bump. I've finally started production after this product went on hold for a while. I've filmed nearly 2/5 of the film. Here's my update.

Title: Le Mime
Fps:  15
Lighting:  No spotlight, nothing special, one lamp from above.
Release Date: Hopefully by the end of this weekend (including Monday, no school!). Call me a lazy bum if I don't finish it by then.
Need: A French speaking person to speak a few lines in French. Male, adult (low voice). Calm and "welcoming" voice. PM me if interested. I need you by Sunday.
Footage: Here are some screenshots. Some can be found in the "Frame from Upcoming Film" thread.

I like it, and since there was not spotlight, It looks like the camera quality has increased as well. Simple set, yet so amazing.

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

Orky-dorky, guys! You BiMers are probably tired of this thread by know, constantly popping back up to the top of the "mountain" of threads, but I only do so when I have a major amount of work done. I am proud to announce that I am officially two thirds done (2/3). Every time I "sit" down and animate, I finish a third, so next time animation will be done. Here's my update.

Instead of doing two acts, like I [think] I had said at the first post, I will only be making one, due to lack of time, lack of motivation, and my dwindling interest in finishing this project. If it seems too short for me, I'll add the second part, but I'm probably not going to do so.

Here are a few more screenshots from today's animation:

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

I need one of those cameras... I though mine was nice- until I keep looking back onto your animations. Spectacular quality- nice job. I'm really looking forward to see this.

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

Yes, you do. Mine's outdated, but Sony Handycam cams are great. The last one (no he wasn't pointing at the audience) was taken with the camera 10 feet away from the set, zoomed in for macro focus. It didn't work so well because the background (curtains) were too close to the mime, but still a good shot.

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

Impressive frames. You've clearly got a nice camera and lighting set-up. I have two points:
1. Why does the set end so abruptly on the right side in the first shot? It appears from other shots that there's a wall there, but it seems to simply be a void here.
2. In the second shot, it looks a bit washed out - both with the curtain and the mime himself.

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

1.  I have updated my avatar, sig, and YouTube background for Le Mime.

2.  The first shot of my recent post (I believe is the one Jargon is referring to as "ending abruptly") was cut from the film anyway. I had to end it near the stage so that my [big, bulky] cam could get close. Also, any other shots including the audience, it fades to black and is out of focus, to its unnoticeable the way it ends.

3.  Thanks for complimenting, it's nice to hear compliments from you, Jargon, but to be honest, I don't have a complicated lighting system- just one lamp from above. But glad it looks good.

4.  What do you mean by "washed out?"

Sorry, I just had to point out the irony:

Le Mime is french, so the truth shall stand out.

From what I think he means by washed out is slightly out of focus. It looks as if the camera focused more on the torso than the actual head to me.

Yeah, and Der is german, Tarchin is turkish... hehe.

Great project! The cinematography is nice. Bravo mini/wink

Re: A Mime Animation "Le Mime"- NEED HELP!! VOTE NOW!!!

Okay, so I want to get this project over with, and soon. Motivation is an issue with me, so everyone who's interested in seeing this short come out PM me a ton of times (essentially spam) and threaten me and just maybe I'll finish it. mini/tongue

No really, I plan on finishing this weekend. So. Yeah. Oh, and if it's a big success, I'll make the other "part" or act.
