Re: 15 Fps Vs. 24 Fps

I think it really depends what sort of film your making, if your going to edit the frames after shooting like masking or lip-sync 15FPS is the way to go. But if your going for none of those options and you want a really smooth film go for 24FPS, I always shoot with 15 but I don't mind the outcome of either 15 or 24 FPS. I like the smoothness of 24FPS the most.

I am a Brickfilmer that wants to succeed in becoming a director and maybe own an animation studio.

Re: 15 Fps Vs. 24 Fps

24 FPS is definitely more demanding and not everyone can make the animation look good and smooth. If you're one of those looking for perfection I guess 24 is da key! mini/smile I'd rather make 15-FPS animation videos but I'm lazy mini/bigsmile

Re: 15 Fps Vs. 24 Fps

I use 12 fps. Hey, if it worked for traditional animation it'll work for me.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: 15 Fps Vs. 24 Fps

The 24FPS test was definitely better than the 15FPS one. It was smooth, and it wasn't too fast either. On a side note, however, I'd work on securing the set and camera, as well as setting up some better lighting (I'm pretty sure this isn't your animation studio, so what I'm saying here probably won't matter). One thing I'm also interested in seeing you do is compositing CGI with stop-motion animation, seeing as you know your way with computer graphics...
