Topic: Movies which you think should have another film...

Hi, this thread is about which films you think should have another film or that should be remade. You can also write (if you want) what you think should happen in the other film and which actors you want to play certain charaters...

I think there should be a remake of: Red Dawn because It would look fresher and there would be better effects etc.

I also would like a sequal to: The Incredibles (cheesey I know; but who cares?) and an other film of: Lord of the Rings.

Enjoy the thread!

It would be really cool if they remade Star Wars; that movie needs an update, seriously. Maybe Spike Lee could direct it? Marlon Wayans as Luke Skywalker.

Re: Movies which you think should have another film...

Red Dawn is being remade.

There aren't a lot movies I would like for there to be sequels to or remakes of, though hundreds of them are in development.  Hollywood has gotten pretty lame in the last 5-6 years or so in churning out lots of sequels and remakes because they're safe and have established audiences.

The only big-budget, live action "spectacle" type film in the last several years that wasn't based on something preexisting is Avatar, and though I loved the production design and technical work on that film, it leaves a bit to be desired in the originality department. I would like to see more big-budget films that aren't based on preexisting source material.  Book adaptations can be good, but film isn't really conducive to the same kind of storytelling as novels, and can also do a lot of things that books cannot, so I'd like to see mainstream cinema move more in that direction.

Pixar is currently making Cars 2. Hoo boy, this should be fun. They are also making Monsters Inc 2. It's too early too tell if it will be good, but I hope it is.

Super Mario Bros.

They should make a remake of HOWARD THE DUCK.

Depends on how they make it. If it was like the 1993 film, it will be horrible. If they do make it, let's hope they learn from their (many) mistakes.

Re: Movies which you think should have another film...

Thanks Smeagol for the information on Red Dawn and I agree with your point about Hollywood; the safe establishment.
I dont think the Star Wars should be remade because It's already had lots of movies including an animated movie and now there is an animated series called: Star Wars: The Clone Wars and personally the story line Is getting old but maybe If they remake them; you never know they could be brilliant. I'm looking foward to the sequals of the animated movies by Pixar... Super Mario Bros sounds interesting but If It Is made badly or like any movie It'll be one of those movies which nobody hears about and they just disappear and go straight to DVD. Howard The Duck; Im not sure...

I have another idea for a sequal: Forrest Gump. It would be cool to see Forrest Gump with his Son and what else has happened since the last movie. They won't probably ever make it because they most likely want to keep it with a good reputation and not have a possibility that the second movie might ruin it (The reputation).

Please keep up the posts! Thank you.

Quite frankly, I'm terrified, I saw the trailer and this is what I made of it. So, Lightning McQueen is heading to some world championship race, makes sense, but now some conspiracy is trying to conquer the world, and the characters lightning and Mater have now been brought into a spy agency to work for the government, I think, it was very confusing and hard to hear with someone with a heavy cough behind you.

This may interest you, then. And that's all I have to say about that.

No. Just no. Star Wars is a classic (the original trilogy being the best in the series) and it should stay that way. They are coming out with 3D Star Wars starting in 2012, and they have the Clone Wars Animated Adventures going on now, and maybe the rumored Bounty Hunters live-action film/episodes coming out. The films themselves should remain the way they are- near perfect (Episodes I and II aren't the best).

Really? See, this is what causes some internal debate in me. I hate sequels to films, because 90% of the time they are terrible. Loved Titanic? Ever saw Titanic 2? Don't.

But the other thing is that Pixar is the story god. None, absolutely none, of their films have had a bad story (name one and you die). They pulled off Toy Story 2, and Toy Story 3 was the best in the series. So I don't doubt that Cars 2 and Monsters Inc 2 will be bad.

But still, some of the great movies should be left at that. Don't add more.

Already, James Cameron is planning Avatar 2 and 3, and I'm a bit worried.

But that is not a sequel to James Cameron's movie.

Re: Movies which you think should have another film...

It technically is, but wasn't in anyway created or written by him. I think.

Re: Movies which you think should have another film...

Ha, I was joking. Spike Lee is my least favorite director. I don't think the Star Wars films are that great, to be honest; their value comes more from the fact that they're set in a really interesting world and are entertaining.

Re: Movies which you think should have another film...

Littlebrick thanks for the link. Shame though when people complain, the movie director teminates the next film. I defaintly agree that Pixar always have a great plot and dont normally ruin films by making another. Never heard of Titanic 2 though; that must of been bad. In terms of Avatar, I think James Cameron should just stop, forget anything he thought about for the second or third film and let Avatar be. Another thing that annoys me Is that Film makers (etc) become greedy or think they have great ideas and plots and rush ahead; they need to take it slow and think. Will people actually watch this? Or Is It worth making another film? If you can't think of anything for another film just think about something new and start fresh dont carry on something you havent planned propely or dont know where It's going. It's like brickfilming; plan the hole plot before starting because if you dont you'll get a weak plot or a bit messy.

Anybody heard anything or think they should make Incredibles 2?

Thanks!

I agree with you on Star Wars, or at least the original trilogy, those three are still the best of all the Star Wars films, and way better than all this new clone wars jazz, where they ruin the story, a lot.

Pixar is a sub company under Disney, they don't make stories at all.  They may have made some of there own films, I'm not sure, but they currently animate all of Disney's films, except the cartooned ones.  Disney makes stories, Pixar animates.  I just wanted to clear that up, and if you don't believe me, look here.

I do agree, both Monster 2 and Cars 2 will probably be pretty good, they are also not quickies released a year or two after the previous, both originals are getting on in years, especially Monsters, which means they will try to make it good, not release it quickly so people come by the thousands to see it.  Also, because both were so great, I'm sure they will try to maintain a high standard for both films.  I'm a little worried that Cars 2 is going to be a cliched film for laughs, with almost no storyline, the trailer is very cliche IMO, I mean really, "they are back to save the world" the English spies, all so cliche.  It will be a very different story, one of making friends and winning a race, the other of saving the world, very different story lines.  Mater looks funny as ever though mini/XD.

Re: Movies which you think should have another film...

The Incredibles and Finding Nemo both really, really screamed "sequel" at the end, but I was dissapointed in both. I think Pixar was making an Incredibles 2: Rise of the Underminer (or something like that), then it got dropped for some rediculous reason. I read it online though... mini/shifty

Re: Movies which you think should have another film...

I thought 'Rise of the Underminer' was an Incredibles videogame or something.
Also, I think Michael Bay should re-make The Godfather in 3D as a romantic action/comedy.

Re: Movies which you think should have another film...

Danimation thats a really good idea to have The Godfather In 3D. Yes, Incredibles had a game of the second movie but never an actually movie; It was obvious at the end of the film that there would be another one and they did make a massive profit from the first film. I think It probably did get dropped somehow...

Wes Anderson should do a remake of Fight Club, then it wouldn't look so ugly.
