So can I make a movie set in the Medieval Period, with that being the theme, the story not so accurate and made up?
Oh shoot!I am making a film about the future ATM! UGH! Oh well, I might enter this as well.
AWSOME! great theme, and I will try to enter
Are we allowed to not show the historic event, as long as it is the constant focus throughout? And as long as the setting where the story is set becomes historical?
I'll be entering this for sure. I'm a big history fan at school (yeah I know, bit wierd) and I can think of some great ideas for this.
THAC was a bit of a flop for me, but this is going to be wicked, I can't wait.

Ditto.
I think I might get the snowball or the brickarms. Probably brickarms. Cool package idea Smeagol.
EDIT: Oh crap double post.
So, wait. Can this be anything about History? And is the competition started?

As long as the story is set in the past, it is a historical film. (An historical film? I never quite worked that one out.) There's no need for a massive event to make your film qualify.
Come on folks, please stop pressuring Smeagol by constantly checking if your idea's OK. To qualify, all you have to do is set it in any period between the dawn of time and, say, the 1990s. The 90s might be too recent, but it depends on what you choose and how you present it. The point is not to tell a story set in the present day or the future. It doesn't matter if your characters and/or events are fictional or if they actually happened; no one here doing non-fiction is going to be able to create a word-for-word recreation of their events so it's all fiction to an extent anyway.
Now stop posting here and get on with your pre-production!
