Re: The CGI Thread

I just started learning Blender, and I dont know how to render a video out of blender. Can someone please help!

I can't brickfilm for now. See you guys later.

Re: The CGI Thread

Go to the sidebar on the right!

Check the range of your animation. Choos the output of your animation, and change the type from jpg to whatever you want to have. And the last step: click Animation and take a tea!

Re: The CGI Thread

Piet,
Do you use blender for all of your CGI work?

Re: The CGI Thread

Can someone make me a 1800's Dublin background?

So yeah, I'm back from my mind.

Re: The CGI Thread

Do we have to go through this again?  We can, but it's like asking us to build a house with no blueprints.

Re: The CGI Thread

Ok Lech, I know what your driving at but honestly, I don't care about the minor details. Anything you give me will be fine, just as long as it's 50% right. Which would entail, old 1800's type houses. I would like it to be a street type view. (if you can make another one with a roof/ sky shot that would be great.) I would like it to be daytime. (or if you can make a daytime, morning, and nightime shot s that would be great!) I would like it to be in color. Kinda like this only with 1800's houses and all the other requirements: http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu337/JessePics/Archangel%20Of%20Death%20Azrael%20Adryany%20Raphael%20Tepes/The%20Dangerous%20Masquerade/The%20City%20Of%20New%20Orleans/new-orleans.jpg

That enough prints of blue for ya Lech? mini/wink

Also, (I know I'm asking a lot of you people) could someone make me a logo? I'm looking for a white sillohete (spelling?) of fireworks, lego bricks 2x4, and minifigure heads on a black screen. And above that it needs my studio name: Cherry-Bomb Productions.  Thanks for all the help guys. I suck at CGI and I could really use your help.

Re: The CGI Thread

Might I mention that there is a big difference between houses of 19th Century Dublin, and houses of 19th Century New Orleans.

Re: The CGI Thread

Yes. That's why I said to make the houses 1800's Dublin houses. I just used that photo for an example.

Re: The CGI Thread

OK, so this is probably a pretty dumb question, but where can you find the download for the LDraw importer for Blender, and how do you install it?  We have just been using LEOCad, and we decided that it was time that we just upload LDraw models directly to Blender.

Re: The CGI Thread

Export it as a .3DS then import the .3DS in Blender.

You'd be better off to export it as a .obj. .3ds are made up of triangles, .obj are quads

The instructions may or may not be out of date but when I used it on my Vista, it worked fine.

Thanks!  However, we have run into another very important problem: We can't find the LDraw importer once we are in Blender!  We go into the File/Import section, and there is no LDraw or .ldr importer!  We put the script in the correct folder (the blender script folder), but it is still not working!  Any help?

Re: The CGI Thread

If I recall correctly, there is a specific order in installing Python, Ldraw importer and Blender so you may have to uninstall everything and follow the instructions.  Obviously based on what you're saying, it looks like Ldraw importer cannot be the last thing installed.

Re: The CGI Thread

Do you remember the order?  We installed Blender, then LDraw importer, and then Python.

Re: The CGI Thread

I can't remember the order nor do I want to risk uninstalling to find out.  Try Python first, then Ldraw importer then Blender.

Re: The CGI Thread

Buuuuuuutttt then were would we put the importer?  Leave it on the desktop? mini/confused Guess we'll have to experiment.

EDIT: Got it!  There was no specific order, it was just that we had two Blenders installed (how that happened we do not know), and we had the LDraw importer installed on the one that we were not using.  Thanks for all the help though. mini/smile
