Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Just read that True Grit Isn't coming out until the end of January here, which sucks basketballs.

And as an aside, I hate saying True Grit, it feels too much like True Blood, and that show is god awful.

Isn't No Country for Old Men classified as a western? Still, cool trailer.

I wouldn't classify it as a western, it's set in 1980 or something.
EDIT: Awesome movie though.

Westerns aren't defined by the time period they're set in, they're defined by the themes and other stylistic motifs they employ. No Country for Old Men is a great example of a contemporary western film.

Plus, they wear cowboy hats. mini/tongue

This looks awesome! Oh, man, first Australian screening of Machete, a showing of an original 35mm print of Return of the Living Dead, some more cool zombie movies, and Birdemic. And it's happening soon! Yeah! Awesome! My friend and I should totally go to this.

Oh wait, IT'S IN SYDNEY. I apparently forgot to read that part of the title before I got all excited. Turns out that everything that happens in Australia happens somewhere other than Perth. Yet another fine example of Perth being unbelievably boring.
!@#$ you Sydney.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Yeah, Perth is terrible.

The whole show is ridiculous, and while it can be a fun ridiculous, it's just so silly and overtop almost all the time, which is why I find it so bizarre when people praise it for being so gritty and realistic. It's just about sexy vampires, there's nothing wrong with that, but I can't take it seriously.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Riley, one question: Since when are vampires realistic?

Yeah, but I thought contemporary westerns were a subgenre. But a western nontheless I guess.

O.....k...

Are you looking for constructive critisism? If you are:

Nice article, not sure if this is the place, but I could be wrong.
The headers could be written a little better,  such as "What a scandal does" could have been "What effect will the scandal have?" and small pieces of writing could be re-done so they are easier to understand such as

"Gibson was part of the cast and crew of "The Hangover 2" that protested"

"Gibson was one of the cast and crew of "The Hangover 2" who had protested"

Although these things are small, they do contribute to the finished product.

Man, I feel like an english teacher...

If you weren't, sorry... mini/sad

That's why it was posted under General Film Discussion. "Talk about general aspects of film, with bricks or other mediums."

Some awesome names involved. First time I saw the look of the thing, I was a little taken aback, but looking again, it's grown on me a little.

I'm not sold yet. I really like lots of people working on the film too... I just hope they don't screw up.
