Re: Christmas Collaboration Project - Too Many Pies

We need some set standards. We could all be using different frame sizes for example, that's why we need to set guidelines. Here are some examples (It's LO's choice to use any.) :

1280x720 or 800x600 frame size
Set frame rate
Same sort of lighting (Dark nighttime mood.)

You may also need a standard of animation skills (People willing to animate must send in some basic clips of their animation (Running, walking, all round skills e.t.c))

I'm willing to be involved in animation (Preferbly not a scene with Santa, one like DerTarchin stated. Otherwise I could voice some small children. I may even make some backdrops.

So... do we just start making a scene we want to make?

I love TDB.CC! mini/lol
I'll do house scenes 1, 2, and/or 3, or the excersize montage.

NO! LegO is the leader-guy. He'll tell each of us EXACTLY what we're to do, IF HE THINKS WE'RE WORTHY. He might give us an animation job, organization, scripting, editing, etc., and maybe some of each. If he doesn't think some of us should participate, he'll tell us. If your camera/animation skills don't match the frame rate/quality needed, you won't animate. (this is not aimed at anyone in particular, even though I am saying "you").

As for the settings, I'd say 720 (HD) and at 15fps (most people can do that- I will after Yoder explains something to me, but right now I use 16, close enough).

LegO, I've got the Sony Vegas program, if you need a specific effect/editing, I can do it. I can also voice act.

Question: How do we make santa? His beard gets in the way of his obesity!

I made this:

Or we could use this guy's head:

Or this:

(I don't have that last one)

And we have to make sure we build him all the same way.

Here's a better obese Santa.

I'm just kidden, that probably wouldn't work. (DID YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE)

Re: Christmas Collaboration Project - Too Many Pies

Uh, couldn't see JK's santa, but IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CLASSIC SANTA FIGURE, my opinion is don't make a scene with him. How do you know you'll get the part, Goldcam? And also, couldn't one use red clay/sticky tack for fatness?

Re: Christmas Collaboration Project - Too Many Pies

You can use the method, for making a mini figure fat, that Sean used for his "life lesson" video, if you didn't see the film watch it here:

I can't brickfilm for now. See you guys later.

Re: Christmas Collaboration Project - Too Many Pies

Great to see all of your suggestions and ideas. I agree with Solid Blast about that particular way of making him fat, but I understand many people mightn't have the pieces. So, when I assign you your scenes, depending on how fat Santa is in that scene, you can make him accordingly.

Interesting point, so though the beard looks nice, I think that possibly we'll end up using either the head of that fireman you pictured (Most preferable), JustKidden's, or the other one you had with glasses. Which ever the majority of people have.

Very nice idea indeed. I'll put this into the scenes list along with a few others like it, certainly it'll give other animators without the figure a hand in it as well.

I'm also updating the topic with early positions. None of them are certain as yet, but I'm still just going to see if everyone's happy with them and what people think. And remember, if you don't get an animating part it doesn't mean you can't be a big part of the project. Also, though who are a "maybe" will need to send me some recent tests or something of their animation.

I'll be back animating soon! Exams and computer faults are keeping me away </3

Re: Christmas Collaboration Project - Too Many Pies

Ok, I'm willing to animate a scene without Santa, Voice acting and maybe backdrops. I think also doing a clip of someone making the pie will be good to. I'm willing to that too.

Just wanted to share my opinion on this thread. Very good idea, LegO. I like collaboration projects (as long as they're well made, at least). I'll be looking forward to it mini/smile .

Re: Christmas Collaboration Project - Too Many Pies

Very happy with the scene I've been assigned to. I'll begin working sometime in November once I've finished Jeffery And The Old Man.

EDIT: Also, should I edit the training montage myself and then give it to you?
