Festen AKA The Celebration
I'm not a fan of the Dogma 95 manifest. It's really not my thing.

Perhaps it's a slow burn type of thing. Word of mouth and all that. We saw it the weekend it was released and the place was empty.

JAWS

....it hasn't really aged well. Does that stop it from being really good? Nope, but its not my favourite. Although, to be fair, its the most realistic Shark I've ever seen in a movie considering the only other films I've seen with sharks are 'Batman The Movie' and 'Mega-Shark vs Giant Octopus'. Jaws looks like 'Avatar' compared to those sharks....

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I heard the shark for Jaws didn't work for the movie, or atleast the end I beleive.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The mechanical shark was faulty for the vast majority of shooting. Because of that, it forced Spielberg to shoot most of the movie without it, which, as we know, is what made the film so effective as a thriller.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Accused
Man, this film was great. That final verdict had me on the edge of my couch. Jodie Fosters
preformance was fantastic.

What, how can you not be entertained by that film?

Arsenic and Old Lace
Cary Grant is hilarious!  1940s movies are the best!

I dunno, the acting was good but I just don't like the manifest and I don't see what the point of it is. I give it points for being different from hollywood but it just wasn't my thing.

Oh jeez. Well, seems like you've recovered.

I watched that movie with a few friends thinking it would be fun, but it was just so bad, I can't believe I watched it until the end.

Not a mistake I made when I saw Titanic 2. Yeah, turned that off after some shifty guy watched the boat leave the harbour before turning to the camera, lowering his shades to say "We'll have to see if lightning really can strike... (long pause) ...twice," when it cut to black after a that kinda drum thud thing they have on Law and Order, after the prelude by that guy talking about the practices in a court of law and junk.

You say that it hasn't aged well, and then you say that it's really good and that the titular shark is realistic.

Why do you think it doesn't age well?

Sounds hilarious.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I said the titular Shark was one of the most realistic I have seen, but if you compare it to the immobile rubber shark stapled to Adam West's leg and the even worse CGI Shark done by monkeys being paid the minimum wage.....that's not saying too much. I understand this was back in the 70's on a fairly average budget, and that the Shark had loads of technical issues on-set, but seeing the Shark does date the movie considerably.

I was also saying that just because it hasn't aged well, doesn't mean its not well-made. When we only see the fin of the shark or dont see it at all, its really good. The psychological aspect is much better than when you actually see the shark - its almost like an anti-climax when the Shark does appear.

I suppose 'aged well' isn't really the right expression.....

I would pay to have 'The Asylum' blow up in the early hours of the morning. Their movies go beyond 'so bad its good' to just abominations that should be wiped from the face of this earth.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I Am Omega is apparently OK for a while. The only movie I've seen by The Asylum is AVH: Alien vs. Hunter. I totally know what you mean by "beyond so-bad-it's-good". Thinking back on it, though, it was fairly amusing.
