Topic: Hapless Series: About an unlucky guy named Tim

This is sort of a WIP, because its my first time posting on YouTube, and is sort of a test. I plan on making about 6 to 10 episodes. Here are three so far, with three more soon:

http://www.youtube.com/DerTarchin

Oh yeah, the whole series is about an unlucky guy (hence the name hapless) named Tim (Timothy Queman). A bunch of funny unlucky things happen to him, and he can't do anything about it. He was probably born unlucky. Even his girlfriend- wait I'm not going to tell you, find out yourself!

Tell me what you BiMers think, because I love feedback and comments, it makes me feel happy that i entertained someone for 15 seconds. Everyone needs a smile. mini/smile

NO, i have not posted them in the directory for BiM, I have yet to try that. Once i finish this series, i'll post a topic in Releases section.

No, don't worry, I'll see it in a bit.

Re: Hapless Series: About an unlucky guy named Tim

I saw the girlfriend one - I think it's pretty great. One thing you could definitely improve on is animation though - it seemed very choppy. I'm not sure whether this is just a frame rate issue. But apart from that, pretty great. I really liked the last shot with the focusing back and forth to the guy and the background.

Re: Hapless Series: About an unlucky guy named Tim

Yeah, I still use movie maker to animate them, and Sony Vegas to edit them (along with Photoshop), though these are for my other vids, the Hapless Series doesn't have any editing in it. Movie  Maker has no fps setting, but i may have just been bad at animating them. These are my first videos to be posted on the internet. mini/yes

Do you BiMers think I should keep this style sound effects (my own) and voices, or should i trash the whole thing and make the rest of this series silent except for some funny music? I personally think that my sound editing is terrible.

So you know, I have never seen it and did not copy any ideas. I just thought of mine.

Re: Hapless Series: About an unlucky guy named Tim

And I'm doing a series called "Poor Man"! mini/lol Well done anyway. I suggest getting a better animation program so you can speed it up a bit. The set design was pretty decent though, and I liked the ideas. Look at some tutorials and different webcams/cameras. I'll give you a link to the video I've done of my set up once it's uploaded. Maybe that'll help. mini/wink

I'll be back animating soon! Exams and computer faults are keeping me away </3

Great! But about the camera, I have a Sony Handycam HD Camcorder, and it does anything, I am really happy with it. Thanks for commenting on the set design. Its really a giant street corner that I have been designing  for years using Digital Designer. The cost was crazy high, though, so I stopped after the sixth full size building. (In scale with a minifig). I'm going to make a video that shows the whole project soon, so I'll PM you then!

For all who liked my vids, and want to see more, I have just released the Bench 2. After that, only two more left (I wont tell you what). Then on to more serious things.

Thanks, but what do you mean use studs?

^Those are studs.

I thought it was fine without studs.

Re: Hapless Series: About an unlucky guy named Tim

Yeah, but what I'm trying to say is, did Steve mean the bench or the sidewalk to have studs?
Hapless Series takes place in a giant town that I designed myself of LDD and bought. Everything is permanent and i will not change it, so I won't be able to use studs for the sidewalk or bench (personally, I like it smooth, but it makes it harder to animate on...)

glad Daniel liked the way it was mini/smile

Re: Hapless Series: About an unlucky guy named Tim

I just watched Balcony 2.  I enjoyed it.  You have some good ideas.  One thing to work on is better animation and try not to breath into your mic.  I know you mentioned you only have WMM right now so I can understand the dilemma.  Now I know what film your avatar picture is from.  I likey.

Re: Hapless Series: About an unlucky guy named Tim

mini/bigsmile

Thanks. I didn't notice the breathing before, I'll fix that from now on. And I just noticed this, I can't believe no one else of the 130+ people who watched Girlfriend episode didn't notice that I spelled Girlfriend in the opening title as "Girlfreind! (I just noticed yesterday)! mini/tongue

Re: Hapless Series: About an unlucky guy named Tim

Sorry for another double post, but I have released my last episode called Door. Funny thing is, this was the first one I actually filmed! Anyway, if you guys like this series, and want more, send in ideas of unlucky things happening to Tim, and I'll make them. Or, if you have the Tim minifig, you can make one yourself, and send it to me/post it as a video response to any Hapless Series video.

Keep the comments coming, and I specially thank all those who posted comments that told me things that I did wrong and should try to improve. mini/wink
