We already have a free software list. It's already available to everyone to see what programs there are, plus there are numerous places you can find out good software that costs money. Just adding that would mean that people get so lazy that they can't do any software hunting for themselves. They might not know if there's a program that better suits them out there, because they haven't looked through all of them, just a few.
