On brickfilms.com?

The IDEA contest in 2007 had a 6 minute time limit, which seemed rather arbitrary to me. I don't remember how many other films were hurt by this, but mine certainly was.

Yeah, I remember. Back in the days when I had the time to make long brickfilms but couldn't do so.

Yep.  The IDEA contest had, I believe, a 6-minute max time limit.  It was pretty unpopular and I think everybody involved regretted it afterward.

Incidentally, my entry "Crown of Syracuse" was 5 minutes long and won.

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

Smeagol, any idea on when to expect the results?

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

At this point I'm thinking it may take longer than 2 weeks in all, so maybe give it three weeks?  As in 3 weeks from the contest deadline.  I'm not really sure, we're trying out a slightly new judging system which I think will be better in the long run.

The judges, however, I can announce: Night Owl, Noodle, and myself.

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

I expect the results to be posted by the time I get back from vacation on the 18th.  Nick Durron ftw! mini/delirium

Yeah, I think it's gonna be close between mindgame and Nick Durron.
Looking forward to the results. mini/smile

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

Remember, it's based not only on animation, but whether it's AG or not.  I think there were some other films that fit the theme decently and had nice animation as well.  We'll have to wait to see what the judges think.

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

Nick Durron's was VERY AG, though the animation wasn't as good as mindgame, it should take home at the very LEAST 3rd place.

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

I don't think it was really avant-garde, but was extremely well-made, and certainly different from most brickfilms.

Avant-garde > Animation

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

The way it should go down IMO. First: Timothy R | Second: Bodville | Third: Nick Durron

Just my opinion, man.

Yes, the deadline has passed.

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

You beat me to it.

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

This was a successful competition, I must say.

I am looking forward to see who wins, and I'm just as excited about BiM 2011!

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

We're getting close to having results ready.  Hopefully sometime next weekend we will be able to hold a results chat.
