I just finished the second book in the Hunger Games Trilogy. And, just as the last book made me feel like my stomach was holding a lead ball. That sort of feeling like it won't go away, you can't stop thinking about it. Like when I stayed up all night to 5 oclock in the morning just to finish it. And when I was finished I just stared at my ceiling and thought about it. This series was spectacular.

A MUST READ.

Re: Books!

I just read:

I kind of just chose it out of my stash randomly. As far as King goes, I've already read Under the Dome, Salem's Lot, The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger, and Cell. This story felt a lot different, obviously, as for one thing it was much shorter.

It was told competently, and you got a real sense of the main character's indomitable spirit, but to tell the truth, I never really got close to feeling creeped out or anxious or anything. Then again, it takes a hell of a lot for a book to do that to me. Cell might have managed to build that kind of atmosphere, but this didn't quite cut it.

Overall, it was decent, but I don't feel as if I ever need to read it a second time.

Before that I read Harry Harrison's Eden trilogy, focusing on what would've happened had the dinosaurs not gone extinct. It was most excellent.

Re: Books!

How was Salem's lot ? I have that one in my drawer somewhere.
I recently read 'Bird by Bird' by Anne Lamott, it has some great advice in it if you're into writing. I also read 'Mary Mary' by James Patterson, it was quite entertaining.
Currently I'm reading a bunch of screenplays.

A birthday gift from some friends. A great read, and especially if you've had an introductory course in philosophy you'll recognise a lot of what's being said and feel great because you understand more of it than you'd have expected.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, a classic

Re: Books!

I've been reading Treasure Island, which is good, but much different from the movies. I also need to go back and re-read all of the Harry Potter series, due to the Deathly Hallows coming out soon-ish, as well as re-reading a series called Pendragon.

Re: Books!

Reading it at the moment, title says it all.

'The Eyes of the Dragon' by Stephen King. I started reading yesterday and it's quite awesome.

Re: Books!

I just finished reading "The Currents of Space" by Asmiov: really liked it. Well, actually I like almost every book written by Asimov.

Re: Books!

'The eyes of the dragon' was great. Started reading Salem's Lot also by King.

Re: Books!

I've been doing some school reading this summer.
