Topic: What should this starting of a film be about???

Tell me what my new movie should be about. What these people should say and so on. This should give me a good idea about the script and overall, the movie. If you give the best idea of the film then you will be part of the film. Only if you want though. I will chose the best idea by July 20th, 2010. The next 2 people with the best ideas will also participate. Don't worry though, if you don't get chosen you can still be part of the film! mini/yes  When the script is ready I'll have auditions open. Thanks for your help! mini/delirium

Erotic Nightmares. mini/yes

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

better animation should happen. it'd be a twist ending.

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

Flashbacks about a dark past, that starts affecting your future.

What's the point of making brick models if your little brother destroys them?

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

Twist endings have nothing to do with animation.

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

I think he meant at the end have better animation to surprise the viewer, yeah?

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

Create an interesting psychopath.

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

it was a joke. do you still not get it?

you shouldn't capture a frame of your film without knowing what its about. i dont know how you can expect to animate dialogue without first recording it.

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

it is possible, mobiledeli. That's what people does in the dubbing process. Obviously when translating a movie from a language to another.

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

maybe in live action. but in animation, i see no possible way you can arbitrarily animate characters and then sync voices up after.

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

I think before you ask people to tell you what your film is about, you need to get good a brickfilming.

They've done it before in animation. It may not be stop-motion but it's animation: Ice Age, and other animations like Madagascar.

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

you're telling me that they animated madagascar before they recorded the voices?

I've seen a lot of CGI animated films behind the scenes footage where the actors look at the screen and talk syncing to the CGI animal/whatever's mouths. But you're right, it makes far more sense to record the dialogue first and then animate to it. That way you know exactly how and when the character should move.

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

I think you're wrong. It would be rude to force the actor to adapt his performance to some animators interpretation of what the character should be.

I think the actors maybe watching sample animations, tests, etc to get the character down.

Unless you can tell exactly which film you're talking about (I'll watch the bts) it still doesn't make sense to me.

I might very well be wrong - the footage might have been edited to look like he was mouthing over the final product. I can't give any specific examples at the moment, so I'll have to dig into my collection to find some films.

Re: What should this starting of a film be about???

I do this myself, sometimes it's strenuos, but if you're on a budget of time then it works pretty good. Like what I do is I describe the lines and characters to my actors then I tell them how long the seconds would be while the dialogue is in motion, then I animate the speaking within that time frame.
