Jurassic Park III
I like this one out of the entire trilogy,but I liked the first one a LOT better.
I used to watch this since it came out on DVD or VHS back in 2001,and I recently gotten the Adventure Pack a few days ago.
So,last night,I went ahead to watch it again.
They Live
In my opinion, Carpenters best film! I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubble gum. 
Terror Train
Pretty good, doesn't really stand out from most slasher flicks though.
From best to worst, the movies I've seen this summer so far.
A-Team
Love the characters. Perfect casting imo. Pretty good story and a very entertaining movie.
MacGruber
I laughed way too much in this one. I love Will Forte.
She's Out of My League
Fantastic characters, very funny movie. Bonus, I love the city of Pittsburgh. I love the Penguins.
Iron Man II
It did what it needed to do which was continue the story. I just cringe thinking about the birthday stuff though.
Hot Tub Time Machine
Funny story and good casting. Not The Hangover of the summer that everyone was expecting, but pretty funny none-the-less.
The Losers
Never read the comic, but Peter Berg is awesome. The characters were fun and a good action flick.
Kick-Ass
If it weren't for Hit Girl, I'm not sure I would have liked this one at all. It kind of dragged on a few times throughout.
Cop Out
This movie would have been better if Kevin Smith had wrote it. The story lacked a decent plot, so it wasn't as much fun as it should have been with this cast.
Youth in Revolt
I loved the book. The actress (or the directing of the actress) for Sheeni was awful. The decision to make Nick multiple characters took away from the heart of the story too. This one was a huge disappointment for me.
Clash of the Titans
Confusing to say the least. Some awful editing in this one. From what I read about the production they changed the plot of the movie after filming. I was hoping for a directors cut, but alas I guess not and this one is the worst of the summer.
The Ipcress File
I really love espionage films of the 60s so I'm surprised I only just seen this now. I really liked it. It has the same feel of a Bond film from the time but more serious. Interestingly it has one of Bonds producers, composers and designers so it feels very Bond. Michael Caine plays a great spy, will be watching the other two films soon.
I had a lazy day alone and decided just to watch all of my favourite childhood films.
A Bug's Life
Ohhh, I wish I hadn't. I spoiled all of the memories I had of it when I was younger. It's still a good film, just not what I remember it being. Better than Antz though, that movie sucked.
The Lion King
Loved it as much as the day I first saw it. I used to eat spiral pasta and suck it up like they were the grubs whenever I watched the scene when Timon and Pumba find Simba.
Never Ending Story
(I had to watch this on VHS, the local DVD rental place didn't have any copies so I had to dig up an old videotape player in the garage)
Eh, I used to like it when I was little, but I struggled to pay attention, and I ended up playing Plants vs Zombies (awesome game) for the last half hour of the film.
Toy Story & Toy Story 2
Toy Story 2 is undoubtedly the better film, but I just prefer Toy Story. No idea why, TS2 was more entertaining, but I watched TS like mad when I was little. I spent hours just watching it over and over while playing with all of my toys strewn across the living room floor.

A cool Norwegian slasher I saw on SBS last night. It was pretty good. Scary.
I thought SBS played softcore !@#$ on Fridays, or have they stopped doing that? Haha, I'll never forget the first time I saw bare boobies.

The Cooler
Great acting and smart writing, I really liked the film noir feel of it. Alec Baldwin and Maria Bello were particularly good in this.
The Hurt Locker
I think this movie suffers from a bit of an identity crisis. It can't decide if it wants to be a faux-doctumentary (with the naturalistic acting), a 'not really based on a true story but let's pretend it is' movie (with the lack of story arc) or a Hollywood blockbuster (with the whole storyline about Beckham). Still, an enjoyable movie and definitely more deserving of an Oscar that Avatar.
Interesting. I've seen SUNSET BOULEVARD many times, but never thought of it as a film noir. Could you expound on how it fits in the genre?
I'm sure you're aware that film noir is pretty hard to define, so I guess by some definition Sunset Boulevard might not be considered noir. However, I think people generally associate film noir with crime dramas more than they should. Not all works in the genre fit this categorization, though it is common. As far as Sunset Boulevard is concerned, it has a distinctive low-key lighting style, it employs first person narration to tell the story, and it's about a down-and-out writer. It also has some level of moral ambiguity and the main character is trapped in an unwanted situation. This stuff is all fairly common in film noir, at least according to Wikipedia. Many critics regard it as a classic work in the genre as well. That being said, I don't think there are any certain elements that can be used to classify all film noir, these are just my thoughts on the matter. Interesting question. 
I've seen it. I didn't really enjoy it but it definitely wasn't the worst film I've ever seen.
If anyone cares, the worst film I've ever seen would be "AVH: Alien vs. Hunter".

Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with noir; just wanted to hear your thoughts, which were enlightening.
The more I think about I can see the style, especially in the classic femme fatale (Norma Desmond) She fits the definition perfectly.

Stanley Kubrick managed to turn a film about a New York couple into a twisted journey. Fantastic.

Last year, I saw The Hitchhiker and Kiss Me Deadly, both of which I liked a great deal. I would consider the underlying theme of most noir films to be the erosion of the protagonist's masculinity.

Toy Story 2
Very well done. It was quite entertaining. Wallace Shawn did a great job voicing Rex, but we kept expecting him to say "inconceivable!"
