Re: The end is near
Yeah!
Look at that horror film I can't remember what it's called right now...
And it was EXTREMELY low budget.
And it made TONS of profit!!!

Seriously, Hollywood has totally lost the plot. I think they should stop rehashing old crap into new crap and just look at the small independent films that have been made recently that have been shot on a fraction of the budgets this (insert you own expletive here) type of film was made on and these small studio films have often gone on to make massive profits.
There are some amazing new directors and screen writers out there, I think it is time some of these old dinosaurs are dropped and these new guys given a chance.
You sir, are a genius.

I agree with everything said, but film studios don't care if a movie is good or bad. A Director/Producer/Whoever presents an idea to the studio and if the studio thinks its going to make any money they will support it. Sequels, remakes, adaptations and spin-offs will be automatically approved since they will definitely make money despite how good or bad it may be. 'Transformers 2' is a piece of !@#$ that deserves to burn in hell along with Michael Bay - yet because Transformers is such a popular franchise it was one of the highest grossing movies of 2009, immediately resulting in an announced sequel despite huge protest and negative reviews.
That, and the world is running out of originality....

There is nothing wrong with adapations
Sequels can be good.
And very rarely, a remake is good. ( Dawn of the dead ) Most suck beyond belief.
Oh my god, what the hell is that? It must be a joke.

It has to be a joke.
I saw this recently and by the end of the movie you just want to rip your own eyes out. It's the worst movie I have ever seen! This and this alone is what makes it worth watching!
Looks like it isn't...
the "driven by *PASSION*" line is so funny.

The Blair Witch Project
Evil Dead
Night Of The Living Dead
EVIL DEAD was a fantastic low-budget film.
But seriously I hate when Hollywood takes old films or TV Shows and tries to remake them into something big. 99.9% of the time the remake is a failure.
...
I'm scared. Very. Scared.
I'm sure this movie is going to suck. The smurfs tv show was bad enough...

I honestly thought it was an Avatar sequel.
I expected at least 4-7 smurfatar videos posted on youtube. People need more imagination. ![]()
OH HELL NO.
