If Hollywood decides to go down the "video game adaptation" road again, they better do Duke Nukem. Even if they stuff it up there might be a video game based on the movie, which would be nice, seeing as "Duke Nukem: Forever" was in development hell for 12 years, before being cancelled.

Re: Hollywood is Running Out of Ideas

Oh mylanta! They really are going to make a Goonies sequel. Also, Goonies on Broadway?!

Yahoo News wrote:

In the documentary, Donner says a long-rumored sequel to the film is a definite thing and will involve as much of the old cast as possible. "It will happen," he assures fans. "We've been trying for a number of years."

And if a sequel isn't enough to satisfy you, you may be able to check out a musical adaptation on Broadway in a few years. "It'll be pure Goonies," Donner says, adding that he would love to see the actors who played the movie's criminal Fratelli brothers involved. "They sing beautifully," he insists. It sounds like Donner really is taking the Goonies mantra "never say die" to heart when it comes to the cult classic.

I think I just died inside...  I thought the first was stupid, but that's my opinion.  And if they're using as much of the old cast as possible, will it be a bunch of 20 year old friends acting like their ten, trying to find a lost treasure?  Or worse, will they be normal? mini/lol

They're making a HALO movie

Actually, the only one of those would bother me, unless they decided to make all the RCT characters immortal, and spend the whole movie trying to find ways to kill them using theme-park rides IN 3D.

Re: Hollywood is Running Out of Ideas

Yeah, they should base it on this and make it sort of a horror thriller.

I almost feel like the Hollywood movie studio industry needs to collapse for a few years again so people can kind of sit back and reevaluate, get some fresh blood in there.  But it's doing reasonably well right now, so I don't suppose that's realistic.  Not to mention it'd be bad from a human, people losing jobs standpoint.

I agree. But unless we could get all the people good jobs, a collapse is still a long shot.  Maybe we should just pass a law, "The making of sequels, remakes, or adaptions is strictly prohibited until they year of 2015.  Then we get original movies mini/tongue

Don't they dare touch John Wayne.  Don't... they... DARE. mini/troll

Re: Hollywood is Running Out of Ideas

There needs to be more original films nowadays, remakes are getting annoying, since they are never as good as the originals.

The Cohen Brothers were supposed to be attached to a remake of True Grit, I believe, which may not be all bad.
