America joined in 1941. It officially started when the Great Britain, France and other allies declared war on Germany in 1939. I assume That's what you meant. Admittedly it all went wrong for the allies in Europe until Russia and the USA joined. But the US only had a 1/4 of the men on D-Day, so its not like they won the war for everyone.

Please, get the facts right. America joined in 1941 because Japan bombed pearl harbor. sorry for being mean. Any ways. thanks for the comments.

Re: The D-Day Project

If you don't mind, could you post instructions for the Higgins boat?

Thank you so much for pointing that out. I would have, but I was trying to keep the thread on-topic.

No, I'm pretty sure its a simple design for kids even  as young as 10 to recreat by just looking at the pictures already shown. Its not like its a complex model crazy techniques.....

No, I am just making omaha beach. None other. So there will be no Canadians...

Re: The D-Day Project

You might want to use just 1x1 bricks w/o holes or studs on the sides. It looks like you ran out of 1x1 bricks if you have some of both.

Re: The D-Day Project

Hey mate, you might just want to do what some other people(like Smeagol and Nick Durron) do: CGI their way out of it. If you spend $300 on Carrara PRO, and download the other freeware, it'll save you like $500 from spending on the Omaha Beach set ALONE. You might want to think about that.

I'm actually studying CGI right now, and it's.....confusing, to say the least.

Re: The D-Day Project

This is amazing,

But animating it is going to be impoSSSSible! It's basically inevitable figures and props and stuff are going to get bumped. I wonder if you can animate in passes with motion control and such.

Maybe focus your film on a small group of key soldiers and have this grand ambiance - explosions and all.

It's a sick diorama.

Re: The D-Day Project

What ever happened to this? Are you still making it? If so it would be nice if you could show us some more pictures.

Still stocking up on bricks. Test stages will begin throughout the school year. And real set building will begin winter holiday.
