Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

BuilderBrothers, I am sorry, but Photoshop is far more advanced and part of the challenge is to see what is possible in the free program of Gimp. However, if you can download gimp and copy the brushes gimp doesnt have from the photoshop folder and paste the copies into the Gimp folder for brushes, I am sure you can manage to slip through. Gimp does use photoshop brushes, and iGimp was organized similarly to Gimp so it may be very easy to learn.

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

Double post:

I made somthing as an example of what would fit the theme.

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

While I agree that Photoshop is a little more advanced than Gimp, I don't think there's enough of a difference to completely exclude entries from people who have Photoshop. Just my opinion though.

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

Ummmm what is ur picture?

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

He didn't have one. He's just saying what he thinks about Photoshop stuff. I agree with Greenscreener by the way. Just having Photoshop instead of Gimp dosen't mean that you're automatically going to beat everyone else or do better than everyone else. For example, look at Yoder's signature and avatar. They look like they could have been done in Photoshop with many long hours of work put into it.

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

That took about 5 minutes in Gimp actually.

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

RealBrick, can we have more than one entry? And how do we enter them? Just post them on the thread or what

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

to enter, simply say "Entry # for GIMP Challenge" post your image, and display the one stock as a link below, then post the makers comments and you have entered. You can have up to 8 entries.

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

'display the one stock as a link below, then post the makers comments' -what?

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

post the link to one stock needed to make the image if you used any. Then post what you have to say about your image underneath the link.

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

ok. can we enter more than one image?

Nothing to do with the challenge, just thought I would share.

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

Hmmm well first off, there's a little line towards the bottom left. And on the right, it seems that there is clouds in the ocean. Everything else seems to be good though.

Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread

The reflection of the plane and the clouds on the water is way to clear. Also, the stock photo that you used was very low quality, so the plane doesn't look like it's part of the picture because it's too crisp. Same thing with the clouds you added in. I would try finding some higher quality stock photo's and maybe try adding a little bit of directional blur to the plane and the spray.
