Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Well, the films were shown on a festival and I asked one question. Actually, I talked to a translator, who talked to the director, because my japanese is not very good and japanese people usually don't speak german. All in all nothing special for a festival. I just liked, that they used skype mini/smile

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

Yep, that was definitely a Herzog movie. Pure goofy fun, Nic Cage's best work in years.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I saw it too, good movie.

And yet if your art is uninteresting to a general audience to the point that they wish they could be doing something else, then you're failing to some degree as an artist.

Whose the 'general audience' though?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Major Payne

It would have to be the funniest movie I have seen in a while, and the most quotable.
The story is, Major Payne is a war killing machine who is taken out of action and put in charge of some school cadets who couldn't care less.
Its his job to fix them up in time for some cadet competition.
Sounds cliched I know, but its so damn funny I couldn't care less.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I'm not sure if I reviewed this before, but I finally just saw it the whole way through.

Very unique, very interesting. Far and away Kate Winslet's best role, and it was a pleasant surprise to see Jim Carrey play such a subdued role so well, and their chemistry together was great. I really liked the way the film portrayed the concept of memories, not to mention it tells a very touching romance story.

The Symbol (Hitoshi Matsumoto)
It's from the same guy, who made Dai Nipponjin and it's a surreal humorous masterpiece. I liked the holistic view on the world and as a result the connection of a day in the life of a mexican wrestler with a kick-ass nun, combined with a japanese guy captured in an unknown room/complex. Nice CGI and camera work. Also the 70s trash/comic reference was hilarious! Only the end was a bit too solemn.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Kick-Ass

Y'know, for a film that's been so polarizing in the media, I was surprisingly unmoved by it. I really had no positive feelings one way or another towards the film, and I think a lot of the controversy around it is being blown way out of proportion. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't fantastic either. It lands somewhere in the middle, making it decent entertainment, but not much beyond that.

Spoiler (click to read)

And I'm probably alone in this sentiment, but I thought the jetpack was a bit too outrageous for its own good, even for this.

Overall, I'm fairly ambivalent about it. I call it a victim of over-hyping.

How To Train Your Dragon

It was very well done. I enjoyed it even better in 3D.

That movie was fantastic. Have you seen Sicko by him?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

No, but I am going to.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Everything that Micheal Moore does is watchable, he even use to have a TV show that was a weekly dose of his awesomeness.

30 Days of Night
Awesome movie, athough I have no idea why I thought it was Swedish... That's some strange unknowledge right there.

My only issue was that the music seemed to be so loud as to drown out the dialogue at some points, although that may have just been a dodgy scart connection. (Anyone else get that, or just me?)
