Re: BrickFlix LEGO Film Festival [CLOSED]

Admittedly The River is a little on the cerebral side, it's not so much of a fun & entertaining film, so it's not for everybody; I suppose it'd be more appropriate for the 16-and-up audience though there's not much in the way of objectionable content.  It's just so unique for a brickfilm, I think it'd be a nice inclusion to help widen audiences' perspective on what a brickfilm should be.

David, please be sure to post the final selections to this thread.  I'd love to see which ones you pick.  If I can put in a plug for "Little Guys", I will. mini/smile  And "Picturesque" would be lovely, but again it's a bit longer than what you're looking for.

Re: BrickFlix LEGO Film Festival [CLOSED]

Hello David,

If you are still searching for great family-friendly brickfilms that last less than 5 minutes,
here are some of our favorite brickfilms that haven't been listed before:

Dare to be different by Brick-Tastic! films (hali9)

Bowling for Sandercoe by Oblong Pictures (OldScratch)

In deep royal water and Found (Goethe) by Go! Le Go!

and two of our own films: Little joke and The crow and the fox

Damn it! Why does everything cool happen in America!?!

Re: BrickFlix LEGO Film Festival [CLOSED]

Because people outside of America are too lazy to organize brickfilm related stuff (well, inside America too). Except for Germany of course.

mini/lol Actually, considering this is the first actual one in the US I've seen....

I'll most likely be there, though at the first showing due to younger siblings in tow. mini/smile

I never plan on buying anything when I go to the Lego Store.
Strangely enough, I always wind up finding something that makes me ditch those plans.

The audience we showed that and others to ranged from 8 to 80. May have been a little cerebral and it was a lot boring for the bigger brains. There was not enough entertainment for the younger brains either. It started with so much promise but the 2nd half flat lines. I hope this isn't what future Brickfilms will be.

You can’t have manslaughter without the laughter!

Re: BrickFlix LEGO Film Festival [CLOSED]

I'd just like to say that, if you're going to show one of my films, Jane's Brain is the one that tends to go over best with casual audiences. The copyright in the music is not mine but I have written permission to use it for public performances, film festivals, etc.

Also, run time is only 30 seconds, so it doesn't outstay its welcome like those boooring looong films that you have to think about.

I'd disagree somewhat.

This has nothing to do with BrickFlix, and there's already a thread about it here: http://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/to … film-comp/

Re: BrickFlix LEGO Film Festival [CLOSED]

I've been looking around on brickflix.org but haven't found an answer to my question.  Do the films we submit have to have been made before a certain date or does that not matter?

They need to have been made before March 1, 2011.
