That was one of the best rain sequences I've ever seen in a brickfilm (Unrenewable is still #1).
The car spray needed some work though. ![]()
Wow! Great rain! It's so easy with AfterEffects! But I really like it!
That was pretty good but there's way to much spray coming from the cars. The drops from the spray should be bigger too.
The road seemed to blob around a lot. Overall, the best I've seen in a while. The spray of the cars keeps annoying me though.
try to use real water with a spray bottle.
A combination of real and CGI should be working well.
That was very, very good ![]()
As has been said before, the spray coming from the car needs some work, but other than that it looks great. You did a nice job of creating the illusion of a pool of water collecting on the road.
Thanks.
I've just finished working on better reflection and splash from cars. The trick for good rain is that you have multiple layers, I have 3. Then I masked the car out from the back layer of rain, so that it looks like it's falling behind. And also the rain must stop falling when it hits the floor.
Here's a second test, with a different particle system:

I'm still noy happy with the car splash, but I think it's a little better than before.

I liked that one better but there's still a little too much spray coming from the car. The lightning strike was awesome though. ![]()
...and now the pot-holes raid.
The car splash is still a little too distinct... maybe turn on motion blur, throw on a gaussian blur filter, turn down the opacity, or some combination of all three?
VERY impressive. I envy this vid. ![]()
