Whats the next animation challenge going to be
I dont know if i should begin a lightsaber duel or just wait
I would like to know about the next challenge also.
Um, me and Fancypants have yet to discuss the next Animation Challenge. But don't worry, it'll be up soon.
So should i just wait or try and animate something
Well before we decide on a new challenge, there's something to be discussed. Although we got a few really great entries, the problem is that there was only a few. So me and Bricklord thought for future challenges, we would make things a bit simpler, or at least more specific. Like for example, doing a backflip, or a running jump. That way it's a bit more manageable and fairly easy to do quickly, but still a challenge and addressing those problem areas that us brickfilmers have. We'd also hope to get more entries this way.
But if you guys want, we could go for a more involved approach, like the lightsaber duel. Something you could make into an actual short film. Opinions?
Both options are very interesting, but I fear that if you do the second option there might not be as many participants, since if it's something like a flip or simple like that as you mentioned I'm sure a lot more people would enter.
btw, I'm starting to get jealous of you.
I agree with filmyguy
The second option would make it so people have to put forth more effort
And I as well as other members arent't doing so good at staying with a certain project
I think you should do option 2 and make the due date a couple months later and in between have little challenges such as option 1
Maybe little challenges such as rooftop escapes, backflips, wallruns, or stuff like that
Just little stuff that catches our eyes and helps us improve
how about every other time option 2 and every other option 1??
MUSIC CHALLENGE!!! MUSIC CHALLENGE!!!(please)
And no NXT, you're NOT entering that.
I would love to have a music video competition.
NXTManiac
I can only agree with that.
Anyway, I think generally that this animation challenges are a great idea, and that this should be continued in the future. The lightsaber duel, which I thought of entering but ended up not doing it, has evoked some spectacular entries!

How about having the smaller challenges running every week and the have the others like the lightsaber duel running for a little while?
That way we get to try our hands at doing both while still trying out little used areas in brickfilming such as the mentioned Backflip or running jump.
Well, it seems like Fancypants has won the unanimous vote as the winner.
Fancypants,
Well done, old chap. Well done indeed.
I think that we should do option 2 and have the deadline always 2-3 months after the announcement.
BTW, I have an idea for the next challenge:
FREERUNNING!!!
Like Gareths film 'Leap'. I loved that film.
Dog
That's actually not a bad idea.

Glad you like it, Jargon!
