Kung Fu Panda

Saw it for the first time in a year, what a great movie.
Spectacular animation, effects, story, and voice acting.  It's virtually a movie I could hug it's so enjoyable.

What?! No. That would honestly be like calling the pictures on a calendar the most beautiful photographs of all time.

Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke

Wow, you really need to be in a funny mood to enjoy this one, fortunately for me I was in one when I viewed this. You can't take this movie seriously.
Funny times.

Hm, I guess it depends on what you're calling beautiful.

The Lightning Thief

Meh. I thought it was a pretty average film. The highlight of the film was probably the Alice in Wonderland trailer beforehand.

You know, Night Owl, other people are, in fact, entitled to their own opinions (and, frankly, your choice of metaphor was a tad clumsy).

Speaking of which...

The Wolfman
OK, I know that "The Wolfman" had to have a basic human-like figure when he transformed, and if he just turned into a big wolf he wouldn't be a wolfman, but I still felt that The Wolfman looked really weird. I mean, seriously, when he was running around killing people, I felt like I was watching Chewbacca on acid.
All in all though, I was a freaking awesome film, and I found that whoever made the film killed people really well. I especially liked when:

Spoiler (click to read)

The man stuck in the mud had his head b*tch-slapped off of his body by the wolfman

Though I didn't think "Oh, no. That must suck for that guy", I thought "Ha ha, that must suck for that guy". Which I didn't think the director was trying to make the audience feel.

Of course people are entitled to their own opinion, but that doesn't mean their opinions can't be contested.

If he wants, he can, and then guy who is contested can just simply ignore him or make a respond to it.

Road to Perdition

That whole film was an incredible work of art. To the acting, story, cinematography, everything, but mostly the cinematography. mini/tongue
I could just see how much work went into each shot. Even without that, this is still one of my favorite movies now. Great filmmaking.

I love the cinematography in that, but I've kind of come to wonder if it had any purpose. It's kind of odd in the way it portrays a bleak story full of violence in such a beautiful way. I'm not sure whether I can accept that. Thoughts?

Andrei Rublev

Incredible. It's three and a half hours long, but the pacing works beautifully.

I've tried too many times to sum it up Avatar in a few words, but ending up with a whole novel. Here goes:

Avatar: Stunning visuals, enjoyable action, BULLS**T PLOT!

In my opinion; its not beautiful. Its more subtle than a Queen Amidala costume. I have hilarious visions of James Cameron sitting in deep concerntration thinking "how can I make this movie's themes and message more obvious? Lets have a bada$$ General who needs to bench-press every 5 seconds and spout every bada$$ action cliche from every bada$$ film in cinema history so that we know how bada$$ he is!! And if thats not enough, we'll give him that Mec from 'District 9'! No! Thats still not enough! Lets give the mec a KNIFE!!"

I love how the movie doesnt even try to be subtle. Its like 'Commando', only whilst that movie was an hour and a half of Arnie doing what he does best, this is three hours of James Cameron yelling in our ears "DESCRIMINATION IS BAD, THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME, I AM JESUS"

And I dont give a crap about 'Pandora'. The name itself sums up how stupid the enviroment is. I cannot relate to an enviroment where there are MYSTICAL FLOATING MOUNTAINS! WHY!?!?! HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE!?!

The MYSTICAL FLOATING MOUNTAINS sum up this movie. Thats my solution to my problem. If I could sum up Avatar in one sentence, its "MYSTICAL FLOATING MOUNTAINS!!" I cannot express how dumb the floating mountains are. The only thing dumber than MYSTICAL FLOATING MOUNTAINS is this movie.

Rant over. Remember - its just my opinion. I am not saying anyone elses opinion is wrong, I'm just saying my opinion is different.

MOVING ON:

Indiana Jones 4: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I never thought this would happen, but I actually like this movie more every time I watch it. I just accept the weird storyline and stupid moments and just enjoy the movie. It doesnt hype itself up, it doesnt pretend its something that its not (unlike a certain OTHER movie) but its not without its plotholes. And the ending is ridiculous - but the build-up is actually really well done, so well that the final act is dissapointing. I had no problem with 'the indestructable lead fridge', but it was moments like when Mutt is swinging with monkeys and when Indy refuses to graverob a knife - both of which are entirely pointless that made me feel negative towards the movie.

Basically, the problem I have with this movie is two words: George Lucas

Ah Lucas. How far you have gone from a cinema god to an overconfident, self-indulgent millionaire with far too much money and creative control. Do I even need to rant about you? Anyone who has watched "Star Wars: The Clone Wars Movie" will know all about you.

Oh, and whatever you do, DONT MAKE INDIANA JONES 5!! You are incredibly lucky that Indiana Jones 4 was well received. But I guarentee you that a sequel wont be as lucky....
