Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Silent Running is on par with Avatar in 'environmental message' movies. I thought everyone knew that?

The French Connection as I write this... although I have work to do. But I want to see the second one, apparently its not too bad of a sequel?

Would you mind telling me how a human running around with overgrown Smurfs in an overgrown Smurf costume constitutes an environmental message movie?

The Book of Eli

Truly amazing. I loved every part of this movie. Acting was beautiful, and it reminded me of some old Westerns. Although the title makes it seem religious, it is definitely not built around Christianity. mini/smile

Persist.

Up

One of Pixar's greatest, it's just their best yet sinds Toy Story.
This deserves atleast a Nomination at the oscars for best film

5/5 High tone dogs

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Still remains the best Action/sequel EVER.

Go see the movie, and you will be enlightened. If you have seen the movie, then you aren't very observant, because the environmental message slams into you like a ton of bricks. Still a great movie, though.

Oh, and I fixed those glaring spelling errors for you.

Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Best, and yet worst of them all.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

DayBreakers

The only good vampire movie this millennium thus far. The characters are fleshed out, the sets are modern yet futuristic. The movie presents itself while Sci-Fi, a very realistic problem for our protagonist. Every main character introduce is not just forgotten after a few scenes, and they all heavily influence the result of the film. Very well done, 4.5/5

Because if you watch the movie, you will know that the smurfs are 'one with the trees', but there is some stuff that is worth loads of money underneath those trees, and so - because humans are EVIL] - they are after this stuff. What this stuff is made of, what it does....Cameron never tells us.

And if that isnt in-your-face enough, the guy running the....corperation with no name, is an a$$hole who after listening to a long lecture about how innocent, peacefull, holy, cleasned of all sin, not-trying-to-convey-an-enviromental-message-whatsoever the smurfs are - laughs.

But then, the Smurfs grab their magic rings....and Captain Planet appears!! And together, they all save Ferngully from destruction, Pocahontas marries the British guy, and our hero decides he wants to live in Atlantis forever.

Oh, and I know I'm nitpicking but why is it that when the Navi (WHAT AN ORIGINAL NAME FOR BLUE PEOPLE!) shoot arrows at planes when their tree is being blown up by the big-bad military (military blowing stuff up.....how original) the arrows only scratch the glass....but when they do it later, the arrows are suddenly able to smash it? Oh and a bunch of native creatures assisted by rebels destroying the military *COUGH*Star Wars Episode 6*COUGH*

Overall: I dont like Avatar. Sure, I can smell the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.....but the story could not possibly get any dumber or unoriginal - and this is from the guy who did 'Terminator', 'Titanic', and 'Alien'. Definitely one of James Camerons worst movies.

Really? The whole film was like a $3m greeny campaign

I for one, actually thought Sherlock Holmes was better than Avatar. Please don't kill me.

Yes!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Sherlock Holmes

Pros: My jaw dropped several times in the movie (especially the beginning), awesome visuals. Great characters, and above all I thought the story was very well written. Also, I loved the OSHI- moment in the movie

Spoiler (click to read)

(the explosion)

Cons: Although I loved the fight scenes

Spoiler (click to read)

I think showdowns with the main goodie and the main baddie at the end of movies have been really overdone.

Nevertheless, that was fun. I'm ready for a sequel. mini/bigsmile

James and The Giant Peach
WOW. Just wow. I loved it. I'm amazed at how they combined stop-mo, live-action, and CGI together. Amazing.
Plus, the casting was great. I loved how they got Aunt Sponge and Spike to look exactly like I imagined they would look like in the book. The animation was a big plus, too.

Dang, that was great. mini/bigsmile
