Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Thing (1981)

A brilliant masterpiece. You don't know what a scary movie is until you watch this. Great acting, great story, above average effects. Can't seem to find the words to explain how good it is.

The Dark Knight

I hate this movie. Its so good I hate it.

Back in 08' when I saw it, I sat there watching the closing credits wondering why it was so good. Today I sit wondering the same thing. Maybe one day I will find out.....

Anyway, I have "The Day The Earth Stood Still" and "The Day The Earth Stood Still......Starring Keanu Reeves" in my Skybox Harddrive, so exuse me, I'm off to brush up on my classic Sci-Fi.

Not unless The Matrix is involved.

Oh come on, Keanu Reeves wasn't that bad. The movie was. He himself is a good actor.

No, no, and/or no.

I have only seen him in one movie, mind you.

(500) Days of Summer

Wow, that was a great movie. Times more interesting than I thought it was going to be. Hilarious, the writing was incredible, and I've never seen better casting in all my days. I really hope this gets some nods (and awards maybe?) at the oscars, because this was exquisite.

Quite good. Kind of impeccably made all around.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I'm about to watch "Give 'Em Hell, Malone". I'm psyched.

I'm also mathed, scienced, lawed, and forestried. These are all courses I never took in college.

I am allowed to like him, it's my opinion. I don't hate someone just because everyone else does.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I'm not going to do a reveiw of TDTESS because I have not watched all of it yet. So far, its OKish. Its hard to compare it to the 1950's version (oh, and THATS what I meant by 'Classic Sci-Fi', NOT Keanu Reeves) due to the large time gap. So far, what the 50's version fails at, the new version improves. But what the 50's version was good at, this version sucks at. Its really hard to compare.

Keanu Reeves isnt the worst thing in this movie. There are certain moments when I'm yelling at the screen "SPEAK YOU IDIOT!" but his overall performance is average. There are nitpicks such as 'why is GORT activated when the scientists are just looking at him from the screen. Doesnt he only react when there are immediate signs of conflict or violence?' and 'if people can detect the spaceship heading towards earth all the way from jupiter, surely someone must have noticed all the other spaceships around the earth before? And when did they arrive?' and 'why does Keanu Reeves change his mind just after seeing two people hug? Sure, hugs are awesome, but just one is the difference between wiping out all human life and saving them all? My plot-hole senses are tingling...

Red Riding - 1974

It would have been more enjoyable had I been able to understand a word of what anyone was saying in this film. Like, seriously, this is the first time that British accents have been too thick for me to comprehend. Because of that, I wasn't able to follow the complexities of the plot because I didn't know who was who, what they did, why they were significant, etc. Also, the central theme of the movie seemed to shift at least three times, so we end up with an entirely new plot thread not related to the original. I probably won't see the other two Red Riding films.

Cabaret

A pretty good musical that is surprisingly more despairing than it is joyful, especially towards the end (probably rightly so, given that one of the major plot themes is the rise of Nazism). Liza Minnelli gives a very good performance, as does Joel Gray (though I was surprised to see that he beat out three very worthy contenders from The Godfather for Best Supporting Actor. Then again, thinking back, his character did have a sort of ominous "presence" over the whole film).

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Ah, while I'm not much of a fan of the comics, I've heard how awesome the guy is, so I think they totally ruined Deadpool. Had to watch this and this to feel better. Which I did.

The movie was oooooooookkkaaaayyy though.
