It is finally here! This is my attempt at making the best first-person-shooter brickfilm! I have seen people do short little clips of first-person LEGO action, so I thought it would be cool to try to make an entire mission! I started this in like, mid-last year (2010) after my original first-person attempt kinda died off. (The reason why it took so long is partly because I got kinda sidetracked off and on for a while). My first attempt was a zombie infestation movie, which was going to be a big, elaborate mission, and it ended up being 8 minutes long... yea, just a bit too lengthy. I think people would get rather bored of all zombies and no gunfights after a little while, so I bagged that project and started a new one. This time, it is based in part from Call of Duty 4 footage I have seen, and also from the environment in chapter 5 of Uncharted 2.

Re: Urban Warfare

mini/eek . I think that face says it all! Amazing film, this really shows how you can take LEGO to a whole new level. The animation was smooth, the sets were creative, and the first person view made me feel like I was actually playing Call of Duty (or Modern Warfare, whatever that video game is.) 4.8/5 Very well done!

Re: Urban Warfare

Nice job - I really like the atmosphere you created with the first person view and the other soldier communicating with "the player". Like JP said, I also felt like I was playing a first person shooter. I definitely enjoyed this change in style!

Re: Urban Warfare

AMAZING!!!

What's the point of making brick models if your little brother destroys them?

Re: Urban Warfare

great film although there were some technical flaws:Camera bumps, light flicker and, the rotoscoping was that great. but aside the technical flaws this brickfilm is really one of a kind.

Re: Urban Warfare

Amazing job! I really enjoyed it, it really felt like a video game! The photoshopping around the guns could use some work though. Nice work.

Re: Urban Warfare

Hey, does anybody know how to remove forums?

Re: Urban Warfare

What? Why are you asking this here? Remove forums? What do you mean?

EDIT: Do you mean delete topics? You can't. Only mods can.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: Urban Warfare

Darn, you deleted the video on YouTube and I don't have a Facebook account so I can't watch it either way mini/sad

Re: Urban Warfare

Oh, I get it now. You want to remove this topic. You can't. Ask a mod, they'll do it for you.

Re: Urban Warfare

Why do you want it deleted?

Re: Urban Warfare

Yeah, why?
I wanted to watch it.

So did I.

Re: Urban Warfare

Sorry about the confusion everyone! I am not going to remove this forum, nor is the video going to be deleted again. mini/smile  I had removed this video from Youtube because I was unsure about young viewers watching it; but having recently been informed that kids play violent video games all the time, I decided it would be okay to put it back up for viewing. mini/wink

Re: Urban Warfare

It's still not available unfortunately.

Re: Urban Warfare

I think your stereotypical child who spends his/her time watching brickfilms on the internet will be more than acquainted to violence and stuff, due to Forrest and others.

I can't view it either.

Re: Urban Warfare

I myself am not a fan of violence in media, although I am fifteen years old. However that shouldn't be a reason for you to remove it. What you should do is put a warning in the video title that says [graphic violence] or [explicit content] or [nsfw] or [blood 'n guts, matey!] or whatever you fancy, as long as it conveys that viewer discretion is advised. I rarely see people do this but I feel like it's a good way to deter people from watching it if they don't want to view objectionable content.

Anyway, if you want to watch the video, it's here.

If you reupload the video after having deleted it, you might want to update the original link in the BiM post so that people know it has been moved.

Re: Urban Warfare

I agree with topit, just label the video as violent if nessisary, don't remove it completely. I personally have no problem with violence as long as there is a justifiable reason for it in the plot.

Re: Urban Warfare

Saw it just now. It was quite good actually. I've seen other videos that tried to recreate the first person camera effect, and I think this is one of the most succesfull at doing it. I didn't mind the violence, it wasn't exaggerated.

Re: Urban Warfare

Okay guys, I hope I have fixed at least some of the issue. I have removed the Facebook link, but the Youtube link is fully functional. I will probably re-upload a version with a content warning here soon.
