I love the lettering on the side. I agree with DBSarazen about the tip, but that is one of the more difficult parts. At the very least, I'd try to get it so it at least looks like the tip is part of the pencil, which it doesn't in this render.

I'll redo the tip today.
I actually modeled that one, but I think I'll make a material for the new one.

Well, hopefully something more complex than a pencil (sorry JP), but not too hard, either. Something along the lines of a bench or a lamppost would work for me.
How about a Mushroom?

How about Minecraft characters?

Just tried to make a good theme...
A picture frame, a soap container, a computer, a lamp, a basket, a pulley, a river, a plane, a sofa, a traffic light...
And the list goes on.
The new challenge is........
Creating a Mushroom!

Alright, I suppose that was uncalled for. To be fair, it was challenging to create the tip of the pencil. I suppose my problem with your theme was that, after doing UFOs, pencils were very limiting as far as how much you could do creatively, since most pencils are just an eraser, long, thin cylinder and a tip.
Anyway, I might try to enter this challenge, as I have yet to try modeling anything organic.
Why not create robots?
That has endless creative possibilities.

I've only just started fooling around with Blender again and it's going to be a while before I get to texturing so I'm just going to post a clay render.

What color will it be when it's done?
In an ideal world, a red cap with white spots and a door and a chimney. I doubt I'll get that far before the deadline though. Still doing the Noob To Pro tutorials.
