A distinctive self-contained object is probably the best bet. Rivers are a bit too organic - you can't really model one in isolation without the accompanying river banks and foliage and whatnot.
What about guns?
How about a bomb? Can be anything from the spherical Acme bomb from Roadrunner cartoons to a complicated realistic one with lots of wires and stuff.
I'm up for a bomb. I'll crack out the maya.
And it shouldnt take long. We should do simple stuff from now on, so people are more willing to do it, and we can make them within like a week.
I would definitely enter this contest, but I have no CGI software, and I doubt there's any free software to create CGI animations on. Plus, I have no experience with computer generated imagery.
Good topic though ZP!
I should enter this. I still am completely new to Maya, so it would be great to have an excuse to use it apart from animation.
Still, I'm in the process of moving. We'll see.
Ok I'll try this one. I'm kind of figuring out Blender now

There's free software for CGI: Blender
I believe that Anim8or 3D is also free.

That wasn't actually a bump at all.
It was just two days apart with the previous post.
