Rockydude, I am pleasantly surprised! That's a great idea. The only thing that bugs me is the framing. I'd get rid of all that space on the sides.

Alright, by stuff on the side, do you mean like the black parts, or, do you mean the brick that are popping out? Or maybe both?

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

There's a lot of emptiness on the sides. I think he means you should get a little closer to the characters.

That is what I meant. It's an interesting shot, but I think you should fill the frame with something, for example, the characters. mini/smile

I nearly forgot about this challenge. I'll work on my entry tomorrow. mini/sweat

EDIT: My entry is finished, but I won't be able to upload it in time. Sorry. mini/confused

Ugh... Life happened and I didn't get my entry done. Perhaps, if Rockydude411Bricks names a new topic for next week, I can enter then. Things got crazy this time, but I'LL DO IT NEXT TIME, BY GOLLY!!!

I bet this contest will take off during the summer.

Now available to score films. https://soundcloud.com/guy-commanderson

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Oh dang, sorry I didn't post the new challange. I am on a Spring Break vacation and haven't been able to be on the computer. I won by default though. mini/blankexpression Anyway;

Creepy

A real creepy image, like some guy standing behind you with a bloody knife, or something like a horror movie. Just something creepy.

Okay, well, I've never done one of these before so I hope I'm doing this right.  Anyway, here's two photos from me:
(I know I don't need the little creepy sentence but I found it more fun so that's what you're getting)

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

The first is good, but the second one is too dark to see much of anything m'afraid.

Alright, cool.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Today's the deadline.... eehhhh,

New Deadline

April 7th

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Is anyone else gonna enter?

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

The problem with having animation challenges and cinematography challenges during the school year is that the only time people have to work on an entry is usually the weekends. And most people have important (and maybe not so important) things going on over these said weekends. I haven't animated anything since THAC 11, because I seem to never have the time to do so. Or, a brickfilmer simply might not have the motivation to animate.

Either way, I suggest not holding a challenge of any sort during the school year. Challenge hosts wouldn't be disappointed because nobody entered, and entrants wouldn't feel sorry for not entering. And deadline extensions would be totally unnecessary, because there wouldn't be a challenge, with a deadline to extend.

Of course, this is merely a suggestion. If you disagree with me, pay this post no heed. And let these challenges resume.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Well, since John was the only one who entered, he wins. I really like the second one, great job!

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Congrats, Jorden Davis! You would have deserved to win even if a few more people had entered. The first picture is my favourite, it's very creative and definitely creepy.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Well yay, I win by default!  mini/XD
Thanks, I'm glad you guys liked them!  So now I just pick a new theme, correct?  I'll try to do something original but I totally can't go though all the pages of this to be sure it hasn't been done so...

Oh yes, and Mickey, I think you forgot that this is for still images only.  I never remembered that and was really confused about the difference between this and the animation challenge for the longest while.
I think these are fine little things to continue with just because they can be easy to do.  Both the pictures I did took less that 10 minutes for the both of them, setting up, taking the picture, everything.  I think these are manageable.  I haven't really animated anything since August because of school being so heavy but I could find a few minutes to do this for fun.
Like I said, I think these are perfectly fine to keep going with slowly.

When is the new theme coming?
