Topic: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

"He is described as wearing a black suit strikingly similar to the visage of the notorious Men In Black, and as the name suggests, appears very thin and able to stretch his limbs and torso to inhuman lengths in order to induce fear and ensnare his prey. Once his arms are outstretched, his victims are put into something of a hypnotized state, where they are utterly helpless to stop themselves from walking into them. He is also able to create tendrils from his fingers and back that he uses to walk on in a similar fashion to Doc Ock, the Spider-Man villain in the Marvel Universe. The superhuman stretching ability could also be seen as a similiarty between himself and Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four. Whether he absorbs, kills, or mearly takes his victims to an undiclosed location or dimension is also unknown as there are never any bodys or evidence left behind in his wake to deduce a definite conclusion."

Ever watch Marble Hornets? It's a pretty creative webseries and gets you at the edge of your seat. It features Slender Man, and it's pretty scary when it does. If you have headphones, I suggest wearing them while watching this. And if you got the guts, turn off the lights.

Scroll down to suggested viewing order and start from Introduction.

There's also EverymanHYBRID,

Although it's not as well done as Marble Hornets, I find it to be very captivating as well and I like the characters.

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

...And why did you make a thread about this? It looks more like Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

It's interesting and Smeagol said I could. mini/tongue

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

I just think this is more likely going to freak out the younger members than promote positive conversation.
Edit: And I don't think anyone here has ever seen him, or wants to see him, so what's the point?

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

That's a risk I'm willing to take.

Also, so I can discuss Marble Hornets with more people. Best webseries ever.

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

Marble Hornets is pretty fun.  It's a well-executed and interesting concept for a video web series, the objections here are surprising me a bit.  I've not been crazy about the last several episodes...maybe it'll pick back up.

Probably worth noting that, despite a general lack of gore or other objectionable elements, it's total nightmare fuel.  So you may not want to watch if you're impressionable, a child, or both.

Challenge excepted

edit: I give up the acting isn't even believable.

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

I agree it does start to get lame when acting is present, but it's certainly still watchable.

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

My favorite episodes of the series are the ones where they hide Slenderman until the last moment and keep you looking for him through the whole segment. Sometimes he doesn't even show up. It's great; I wish they would do more like that, relying on tension and camera work than a dialogue driven story- which their acting isn't really capable of supporting.

A friend and I have discussed inconspicuously shooping Slenderman into some photos in our school's yearbook. It would be awesome.

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

It must be a coincidence, I've just read alot of stuff about him recently... creepy

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

I'm a little confused as to the origins of Slender Man. Was he created specifically for this webseries, was he taken from some sort of urban legend, or somewhere else?

I've watched a couple entries, it's pretty cool. Reminds me of the Blair Witch Project.

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

He got started in a thread on SomethingAwful, I believe. It was just a generic photoshop-a-monster contest, but it really caught on.

Re: Slender Man and his Appearances in Webseries

Oh great, nightmare for me tonight. mini/eek
They definitely are creepy, but the Marble Hornets videos keep pulling me in to watch more D:
Someone should put him in the background of a brickfilm or somethin.
