Topic: Chromakeying a video into background

Is it possible to put another video instead of image into a greenscreen? So that you have the video playing in the place where your image for your greenscreen is.
Another question is could you have multiple images in a greenscreen?

If you know another way to accomplish the effect please respond too.

Thanks guys.

Re: Chromakeying a video into background

If you want to have a video in your background, use CineGobs Keyer. It does that, and here is a tutorial.

Re: Chromakeying a video into background

OK thanks, but the tuturial doesn't show how to put a video in, I think I can figure that out myself though.

Re: Chromakeying a video into background

On the dropdown screen after you've keyed out the background, it will say "Load Image/Video from File", in the Preview tab.

Re: Chromakeying a video into background

I believe it's: Preview>Background>Load Image/Video. If you don't like CineGobs Keyer very much, you could also try out Wax or Axogon Composer (They both have a little bit of a learning climb to it-more so the latter).

Re: Chromakeying a video into background

the video you load has to be an uncompressed .avi or else it won't work.

Re: Chromakeying a video into background

If your editing software supports multiple video tracks (and Cinegobs allows you to export with an alpha channel), it's probably a wiser idea to do the compositing in your editor.

Re: Chromakeying a video into background

Ya I did that with CineGobs Keyer its very useful if you want to save time. I did that in THAC 8 where I had a moveing road then I  chromakeyed a moveing bilboard in the background. It took only 20 pictures to make a 240 picture seen.

Re: Chromakeying a video into background

Your video editing software, if it supports chroma keying an multiple layers, should allow you to put a vid where you would normally put a picture.

Re: Chromakeying a video into background

I use Helium Forg, I could try putting a video where it says picture.

I'm having trouble getting my video into cinegobs, because whenever I load it, it tells me that it neads a codec or something to compress/uncompress the .avi file. Help?

Use STOIK Video Converter 2 if your video is not the right compressed file type.
