Topic: The Lego Cam Appreciation Thread

While the quality was quite poor and the camera itself was unreliable at times, I still see it as a valuable asset to someone making Lego stop-motion animations. Who here remembers the incredible range of movements offered by this camera? You could practically build it onto anything: cars, buildings....just to name a few, and it was light and easy to move around.
I still have my Lego Cam and plan to use it in brickfilms where a large range of motion is required.

Re: The Lego Cam Appreciation Thread

I got one of these long before I ever started animating... I've yet to actually even use it.
But I so greatly wish I could, but the funny thing with macs is like NOTHING works on 'em...

Do you know what the resolution is? I'm curious to see what I've wasted mini/blankexpression

Re: The Lego Cam Appreciation Thread

You can build any camera onto anything, all you need is a good cradle. Personally I hate this camera with a passion, just because it is so horribly low-res and grainy. I have it lying in a drawer somewhere...

Re: The Lego Cam Appreciation Thread

While I'm not so cool with the low quality and graininess of the image, I can say that I respect this because it got most of us here, as pizzaboy said.  Had they not made the LEGO and Steven Spielberg Movie Maker Set (complete with LEGO Cam, software, and instructional booklet), I'd never have gotten into movie making.  Besides, I still use the cam often with my music videos and for any LEGO vids I make at the moment, as my digital camera's video cannot play well on this computer.
